With Monday's Memorial Day loss, the Celtics fell to 0-1 during games occuring on holidays in the 2008 playoffs. With Flag Day (June 14th) and Father's Day (June 15th) fast approaching, the Celtics will surely be doomed if a Finals game happens to occur on one of these dates. After all, we currently have a .000 winning percentage on holidays during these playoffs! It is practically a given that they would lose that game, meaning that we would have to win 4 out of the other 6 games just to win the Finals! Upon hearing of this trend, so members of the media have taken to refering to Coach Rivers as "Doc Holiday." It is also rumored that Wyc Grousbeck is in talks to acquire the Holiday Inn franchise and rename everyone of them to "Celtics Winn" to try to avoid the holiday jinx that the Celtics have looming ahead of them!
This post is obviously meant in jest. Just trying to lighten the mood for some who are sweating tonight's game. The series is just tied. We are not losing. The Celts are still in good shape. We have homecourt advantage back, where we are currently 9-1 in this postseason. Chances are good we will come through this and make it to the Finals. I trust KG, Pierce, Ray, Rondo, Perk, etc. to do what needs to be done to win this series. Enjoy tonight's game. Go Celtics!
