I'm sorry, but someone needs to remind me why Powe has been benched.  Big Baby really isn't doing anything to deserve playing time over Powe so this just baffles me.

A thread about benching one of our bench players?

I was just appreciating the unintended humor. No need to involve the moderators...

I'm more concerned about Ray Allen. He might need a ride on the pine himself.

For starters we could start the starters instead of benching the benchplayers.
Yup

Ray isn't hitting his shots but the rest of his game is coming around.  Besides, part of the reason for wanting to sit BB is that we have someone who we think can play better.  There is not such person to replace Ray.  And please don't say House.

yea, only move i would be in favor of to get ray to the bench is posey at the 3 and pierce at the 2, but i honestly don't think that would help.

as you said, ray is playing his rear end off, those shots just need to start falling. and if you watch its a matter of inches on most of them, 2 of his three's were half way down and came out last game.

I have to admit that Ray Allen's hustle and grit are starting to turn me around on my previous stance. I still think he should've been coming off the bench against the cavs so posey could play lebron. but in this detroit series, and especially against the lakers I think he needs to start. He's driving to the basket now which is great.

this is a bench bb thread tho, I'd say, I don't care who plays outa bb and powe. play them both a bit in the first half, see who's working, and then go to that guy for the majority of the second half. I just don't want doc to stick with a guy if he's clearly not bringing anythign to the table. Big Baby can't pay for a call from the refs at this point either.

yea maine, thats my number one concern with doc so far, why is it that at both the bbd/powe matchup and the house/sam matchup, the PT is decided in advance and no amount of struggling will force a chance for the other?

as you said, send the guy out thier for his first shift, evaluate what you see, and if you have to, make the change.

sam was a perfect example of this in game 4. he clearly didn't have his shot, and when he doesn't hes a huge liablity. why not toss house even a 4 minute shift and see how he looks?

but no, doc stuck with sam come hell or high water...i just don't get that mindset.
