Did anyone else catch what I hope is not a "developing situation" at the
end of the game?
Big Baby and Eddie House were 2 of the garbage timers with 30 sec left or
so. House brought the ball up and it looked like Baby posted up FT line
extended --- which i'm guessing was his own idea not a place he's supposed
to be setting up, i.e. 20 feet from the basket, even with less than a minute left.
From the 3-point line House tried to wave him down/off/away but he
wouldn't budge. House begrudgingly threw then entry pass then with 10
seconds left, turned disgusted, and looked to walk toward the bench. He looked to be p---ed and
looked to be yelling to/back&forth with Doc -- i'm guessing about Baby breaking the play,
but he was in Doc's ear before the timeout ended --- he threw his
wristband in disgust at the scorer's table as time expired.
It could just be frustration over the loss, but it could also be that
Cassell moaned about playing time and got it... not exactly the best
message. And IMO last night was another night that Cassell --- along with
most of the team --- just didn't have it. House might have.
Anyone else catch this and know what happened?
My guess/hope is that House wants the plays run right... even during garbage time. He seems not afraid to get on players' cases when they miss assignments/plays.
