I guess I should've expected it and it's my fault for thinking he'd play great throughout the whole playoffs.

He's a typical second year player in his first playoffs.

He'll play great one game and really bad the next game.

I really didn't think he'd be a factor if we lost a series in these playoffs, but he definately will be.

i actually thought hes decisions hurt the team in game 4.. they have to be aggresive and not pass shots.. cant believe sam did better even on the defensive end than him

Rondo will make a couple jump shots here and there.
But Rondo is a drive and kick type guard.
and when he is not able to drive and get to the hoop, thats where he hurts us. He does not have the capabilty to knock down the three constantly on or the 15-20 foot junper. Therefore, not having confidence in is shot, he passes it up and squeezes the ball into a tight place where detriot will now double.

Rondo tended to dribble a lot about 17 feet from the hoop and ended up just running time off the clock and going nowhere. Hopefully viewing game tape will help him.

He's 22.

He's in his second year.

He shot 49.2% this year.

He had an eFG% of about 46% from between 11 and 20 feet.

He'll mature and this experience will be invaluable for the next couple of playoff runs. If he learns when to dish off the drive and when to take it to the hole better and continues to develop that outside shot(let's face it his jumper is ridiculously better than last year's), he will be an excellent little PG.

I'm a huge Rondo supporter and I will say that he overachieved during the regular season but the playoffs have proven to be a steep learning curve for the young PG.  He's had a pass/fail kind of playoffs every other game.  No need for alarm though we're watching him grow....

kind of expected, i've always said the one thing i would change about this team if i could would be to throw rondo in a time machine and age him 5 years for the playoffs.

if we had 26 year old rondo at the point, we'd be unstoppable lol.

Yep, Rondo's young with plenty of time to develop. Rondo's inexperience glares out because of Cassell's complete flop. I think when Doc got Cassell and benched House and T.Allen our team changed. They brought the athleticism we needed from the bench. Where are the cries for a Ring this season gone? I was not one of them. I think if we do get one we'll be very lucky. Rondo has no consistency, Perk same story. Allen may be washed up. Pierce and KG are over worked trying to make up for the inadequacies. The Celts depend on 3 players to do most of the work and one is a no show.

All in all it has been a magical show this season. Too bad if we fail. The only remembrance will be we lost in the ECF's and the season achievement will be lost in that.

Nothing new here. He's been wildly inconsistent throughout the playoffs, and he didn't play well at all last night. We're not going to win when his decision-making is as flawed as it was last night.
