I don't know about Ray becoming the sixth man,but i want to know,if Devin Harris interest anyone,to go after from the Nets?I like what he brought to the floor in Dallas, and think he would be a great addition to the 2g spot on the C's next yr.Im not up on trade ideas or whats going on with his deal in NJ,but i would like to see DA ck into the possiblity.I think D.Harris, could play both positions(pg & 2g)well.Im thinking as a backup for both positions, eventually take over the 2,when Ray is done.

Championship?  I think this is our championship.  I feel we'll have an easier time with either the Lakers or the Spurs.

People said Cleveland would be an easier matchup than Atlanta.

Then they said Detroit would be easier than Cleveland.

Now we're hearing LA / SA will be easier than Detroit.

I don't think so.

I don't think LA/San An will be easier than Detroit but I do think Ray Allen will have an easier time of it against those two. He likes playing against Kobe and knows his every move and reaction on either end. Against San An he'll escape the grasp of Bruce Bowen because of Paul so he'll have some more freedom there too. Ginobili is cheating defensively an awful lot in these playoffs so Ray will get some good looks there.

depends on what the trade would have to be to get him here, if it was TA/BBD/ a combo of picks i would be in favor.

Harris can play, of that there's no question, and i think we will have a gaurd void next year. i think the way eddie has been treated means he's not going to play nice and resign for short money next year, cassell is probley gone, a 39 year old PG is not my idea of a backup, and i hope its not dannys.

If it was feasable, harris would be a nice 6th man, with powe as the 7th.

TP for your reply...I feel the same.He would be a suitable player for the C's,and would help solve the gaurd problems in general.

While I am not against Devin Harris in general, keep in mind he was abused by Rondo as a PG and is way undersized as a SG. I think NJ puts a big price tag on Harris for at least one more season. If we want to add wing depth there are better (IMO) available as FA pickups next season. I would take a look at Maggette for instance, he is opting out and would likely sign for the midlevel on a contender. Trades? how about Jamaal Crawford? He would be a nice addition off the bench, has size, can shoot and play both guard positions.

I think Ray is going to be ok. He seems to be pressing still when shooting his jumper, but driving to the hoop consistently can only help. I like the cold hearted attacking version of Ray. I dont really seeing anyone give him an uncontested shot either. He gets a hand in his face or someone running at him every jumper. We are just used to seeing him make more of those. 8)

I was mainly thinking of him as a backup anyhow, that can play either position..if need be.I agree we need bigger, but he seem to have the tools to play either position.I like the idea of a combo gaurd, whether it be Harris or not.TP for your input in this matter. ;D

I'd rather pick up Deron Williams if we are ignoring market value and the interests of our trade partner.

I would love to have Harris, but he would be too expensive and NJ wants him. It would give us a sick defensive combo at PG.

Save ideas like this for video games or fantasy sports.

actually, since NJ has been talking about moving up to take a PG or taking one at their first pick, effectively making him their 3rd guard, BBD, TA and a pick would probley do it. remeber that NJ didn't do the kid deal to be a contender, it did it to drop a major source of cap with lebron coming up in 2010.

while its a incredible longshot to be sure, its not like NJ considers him a star player, he's a bench guy for them. it wouldn't take a superstar, or even a starter, to pry harris away from them.

I fail to see how your analogy is all that accurate, while i agree the trade is extremely unlikely, if for nothing more than NJ won't want to help us out with our upcoming Rondo, ray and no one situation, i don't think its out of the realm of possibility.

Ray's second half slump is very frustrating for all, but I guarantee you that no one is more frustrated than Ray himself.

Also, with the size of his contract, no team is going to take him on (nor would I want them to).

Ray Allen won't be wearing any other uniform except Celtics 20 for the next 3 years.
God bless and good night!

I just hoped someone on the Celtics noticed how open the lane is for Allen when he catches the ball.  Attack.  Stop looking for the contested jumper.

I love looking back at silly threads like this.

At the end of the season, it will be fun digging up all the posts where posters declared with all arrogance how things had to be for the Celtics to succeed and where talking out their... well... you know.
