I think the Pistons made a big mistake to pull out that trap in a game when they were so far out of it.  He showed it to the C's, and now they have an extra day to work on strategies to beat it.  There was no way they were coming all the way back in that game, so he just wasted the chance at surprise.

This was a simple zone trap, and they don't work in the longrun in the NBA (just ask Rick Pitino).  This will really be a test of Doc, because he needs to implement a way to beat this press, because they will see it again.  But I am confident that they will have implemented a way to beat it (probably with KG catching the ball at the top of the key, and being the point man to find two guys in the corners behind the defense).

My only worry is that Detroit hits their shots.  If they hit their shots, it makes it nearly impossible to stop them, and also hurts the C's offense, because they can't get the upquick off misses.

I think it was a desparation move of a coach who's coaching job may just be on the line depending on the outcome of this series. I've never liked Saunders as a coach and he's been outcoached in many way's in this series. Now one series is no indication of whether he is or is not a coach, but IMO Dumars will have a very short leash on Saunders, especially if they lose today's game.

Oh, I agree completely...although its not just one series.  Flip blew the series last year by not making adjustments against the Lebrons, and he doesn't seem to have any control over his team.
