I was just curious to know if the league ever looked into the play.  When ESPN showed the replay in slow-mo its obvious he paused then jabbed his elbow at KG.  I dont know if it is worth a suspension but probably a fine.  Especially considering how this series will be very physical.

Nope.

The league's too busy taking the refereeing skeletons in the closet out and burying them in the backyard.
Yup

I don't think they did. I thought Rip through that elbow on purpose. I like what KG did though. He just walked away like nothing happened.

They should have addressed it since it was blatant.  Where Rip is lucky is the fact that it only glanced KG.  If he had opened up a cut over KG's eye and there was blood everywhere, the league would probably have had no choice.

Besides, David Stern and the league office were too busy worrying about fireworks displays to notice. ::)

What bothers me is that if Garnett went back at Hamilton they both would have been fined and depending on serious it got, ejected and perhaps suspended.  You would think they would reward a player for keeping his composure by at least slapping Hamilton on the wrist with a fine.

But I guess the league only wants to address keeping the League clean and classy by making players wear suits.

I said earlier that it should have been a suspension. To me it doesn't matter if it connected, or that KG wasn;t phased by it. It's the intention that bothers me. To say that it's the ECF is kind of ridiculous imo. We already have a sport that people get hit and bleed, its called the nfl. If you are ok with this, then when it does happen to one of our guys(and it will at some point) and they do bleed and miss vital minutes of the game, I don't want to hear any belly aching over it.

This reasoning is like saying that they guy traveld but missed the shot so why call it. Or the slap on the wrist didn't affect the shot. There are endless comparisons but I think my point is made >:(
Back to wanting Joe fired.

it should absolutely, 100% be an automatic suspension. It was a deliberately thrown elbow at an opposing player's head. That is no different than throwing a punch. It was like Dwight Howard's swing at Rondo earlier this season.

He should be suspended. But then again Rip wasn't called when he slapped Pierce in the face late in the game either. I guess he has carte blanche out there.

It's a shame to say it, but if Garnett had collapsed on the floor holding his face Ginobili- or LeBron-style we probably would have at least gotten a flagrant and maybe a suspension out of it.  Too much of refereeing is based on the reaction of the player receiving the contact these days, another reason why flopping and acting is proliferating to the degree it is.

You are absolutely right!! I'd love see all that acting garbage cleaned up. This isn't the WWF or even Soccer!
