We don't need another undersized big that isn't going to play. We would be better off with a less talented giant that could come in and fill space than Gomes. I liked him just fine, but he wouldn't get any PT so why bother...

And its a lot better than him saying the guy at the sub shop I go to told me....or was it deli...I forget... (best rumour ever though)

Speaking of that crazy deli thread about a guy coming out of retirement for the C's.... Didn't PJ come out of retirement less than a week later?

Granted I think the Deli guy thread was talking about a dude from Indiana... But, I'm just sayin'. Ya never know.  ;)

well, we do have the money thanks to the MLE, i'd just rather spend it on posey.

if there was a way though, love to get ryan back. awesome guy, and good player. be a perfect fit for thsi team, high character hussell guy with skill, he's our prototypical backup

Like I said two teams are willing to offer Ryan more money then Boston will have to OFFER HIM or should I say would be willing to offer him. The chances of him becoming a Celtics during the off-season is slim.

Which teams?  How much money are they willing to offer him?  How much money are the C's willing to offer him?

If you are going to make it sound like you have inside info, please don't be so cryptic.

I'm not putting my friend business on front street like that.  But Ryan will be a getting millions.

Then please do not post that here.  The inside information thing is not adding to the conversation if you cannot substantiate it, or be more detailed.

I understand if you have inside information, it is difficult not to flaunt it, but making posts like that come off as incredibly condescending.

Clearly...

CT34...

is Celtics Thug!!!  I knew it!!!

The bad grammar, crazy claims, and "inside information"

Remember what happened last summer???

Don't listen to anything he has to say about Gomes, or the fact that he knows at least two other teams are willing to pay more for him.  The guy was clearly speaking out of his... you know... and his rumors are bogus, but entertaining nonetheless

Fact is, Gomes is a RFA, which means it would be awfully hard to pay under the MLE and get him w/o Minny matching.  Gomes should accept the tender and wait for UFA.

Man I loved Celtics Thug.  I mostly loved him because of how moronic he made all the fans look on the RealGM Boards for thinking he was credible.  The fans were really really desperate back then, huh?  They'd grasp at ANYTHING.  And for some reason they all came to believe Celtic Thug had inside information.

Things Celtics Thug predicted according to his "sources":

-Celtics were going to trade for Joe Johnson
-Celtics were going to trade for Shawn Marion
-Celtics trading for Rashard Lewis was all but certain (later mentioned in a blurb by Shira Springer as a "possibility"... which I -still think may very well have been the biggest f'up of her career)
-Kevin Garnett was going to the Warriors
-Celtics were done trading (after the Ray trade)
-Celtics were going to trade Pierce and Ray for Kobe...
-Antoine Walker was going to get bought out and return to Boston
-Kobe Bryant was going to be traded to Chicago
-Brian Scalabrine and Glen Davis for Damon Stoudamire was about to happen
-Alex Rodriguez was going to the Red Sox according to his "sources"

Things Celtics Thug never predicted:
-Ray Allen to Boston
-Kevin Garnett to Boston
-Any of our free agent signings

Things that Celtics Thug correctly predicted:
- nothing

Things my "sources" and I predicted that caused Celtics Thug to be exposed and banned... and got me a week suspension on RealGM
-The #5 pick, Theo Ratliff and Gerald Green for Darius Miles  (yes... desperate fans will believe ANYTHING)

:)  Long live Celtics Thug... that fool

  • You know my methods, Watson.
i could easily see ryan becoming one of those eddie house type of players who ends up as an nba journeyman.  he's an average player with maxed out abilities who may start for a horrible team, but would be better served as a 7th or 8th man off the bench.  if someone pays him a lot of money for a lot of years, they will probably come to regret it.

honestly, i think the odds are somewhat decent that he could come back to boston.
