Doc coached well down the stretch.

I originally typed Cassell out / House in --- but I think Billups will play a role in determining that.

WOW! What a bunch of complainers! He does the thing that you guys have been whining about, and then when he does you say he was just average. He didn't get in the way of his guys... If he hadn't been stupid before we would have won earlier... Hoe miserable of an attitude guys! It must be tough to never be wrong!

Doc had an excellent game tonight. We never ONCE lost the lead. We played guys the right amount of minute and put guys in at opportune times. Sticking Ray and House there at the end to hit those clutch free throws was probably the difference. Give the guy some credit. I stated that he has made some poor decisions earlier in this series and the previous one. He did however coach this one exactly right. Not just adequate.

get used to it EJ.

there is absolutely no accountability on the part of the Doc critics.

why would it change now...

Only got to see the first quarter, as I had to coach my son's lacrosse game (we won 9-8!).

How can you give a coach credit when it takes him 12 games to realie Eddie House should get minutes or 7 games to realize Ray Allen should not be playing?

ummm because he won the game... what have you done for me lately is the mo in Boston anyways so might as well go for it

btw I skipped my bball game to watch the celts close out the cavs...call me a bad teammate, but hey (Though I wouldn't have skipped a coaching gig, that's just wrong)

Nobody complained, and Hobbs gave him 'some' credit.  He said he managed the game fairly well.

Don't get me wrong.  I give him credit for today's game.  He made all of the right moves.  However, I agree with Scintan that this would have been over in 5 or 6 if the moves had been made earlier. Wish I could have watched, but if I did not show up for the lacrosse game, the kids would not have been able to play.

this is absurd to suggest that when a coach makes good decisions that that is simply what is expected of a professional coach.

Read that sentence again, and think about how silly it sounds.

Yes, oddly, I expect the professional coach making $5 million per season to routinely make good decisions.

Actually, this is close to what he should have done from the start of the playoffs.House,Powe,BBD,helped get us to the playoffs. House kept the offense at the same pace as Rondo in the regular season, and as we saw today,he should have gotten the call long before Game 6.I know you are giving Doc his due for game 7,but if he backslides in the Piston series, then we will be right back to square one.House has earned the right to back Rondo up,and Sam the third option.I still do not trust Doc,as far as his rotations,so time will tell.

There is a LOT of complaining going on here.

You know I am going in for a job review with my manager soon and I sure hope that he tells me that I am doing ADEQUATE and do my job FAIRLY WELL. That is sure glowing praise.

If you can't say anything nice about Doc even after he did a GREAT job tonight then it probably would be better just to keep it to yourself. Let's not spoil the rest of our good moods guys!

Totally disagree with the Doc critics.

He's made some moves that were odd. I didn't like waiting so long to go to House, and to slash Perkins' minutes for the others.

But this is not a coaches' game. It is an execution game on the floor, and I don't care who is on the sidelines. With Allen struggling and Pierce laboring until today, few buttons pushed are going to matter.

Rivers isn't Auerbach. But he doesn't deserve the blame for Friday night, either.

Unbelievable that people are still saying Doc only did an average job coaching today.  Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson both said he did a great job with rotations, etc.  I will take the word of a former great coach and a future coach over any Doc credit on here.

As far as him taking all series to figure out the rotations... maybe he did take a little too long.  But sometimes it takes a few games to really figure out the other team, especially in the playoffs.  And hey, at least he made the adjustments.

It is just too bad he will never be able to do anything completely right in everyone's eyes.  Way to go Doc!  Way to go Celtics!

gotta love that the c's make the ECF's on hard play, solid coaching, and sheer will and all people can complain about are the coach....gotta love Boston fans

read my whole post again and you will see that my point is about the "double-standard" applied to Doc.

using your measuring stick, there are no good coaching jobs...

the goalposts have been changed so many times on Doc that they simply have no meaning anymore....

There was no complaining.  Not even a little bit.  You made an over-the-top post and some people responded with less enthusiasm.  That was it.

Here is my first time saying this..Thank you Doc..he was not spectacular but did make a big sub with 2 minutes to go..not sure I would have put a sitting RA back in the game but it was the right move to make

God, I feel like I need a gallon of coffee right now to make up for the the crashing of endorphines that is happening to my body right now...

One well coached game in the playoffs. Lets have a parade for Doc.
