So, it's the end of the first quarter, game 6 of the EC semi-finals.  I'm watching the ESPN broadcast (sorry, Donny and Greg) despite Doris whatsherface and the other dude broadcasting (where's JVG when you need him?).

They were promoting the upcoming programming on ESPN...and guess what?  The draft lottery is Tuesday!  Really?  It is?  I honestly had no bleeping idea.

That made me take a step back and say, "Where was I at this point last year?"  I had May 22nd marked on my calendar.  I'm sure I wasn't alone.  I couldn't wait for the ping-pong balls to bounce in our favor.

I distinctly remember Tommy's reaction that evening.  Not even he, the King of NBA Conspiracy Theories, could've seen this coming.  One year later, the Boston Celtics sport 3rd team All-NBA Paul Pierce, 1st team All-NBA and the DPOY Kevin Garnett, the infamous Walter Ray Allen, the up-and-coming (and should've been MIP) Rajon Rondo, and a slew of high-quality role-players who have secured home court advantage throughout the entire playoffs with an NBA- (and almost franchise-) best 66-16 record.

Wow.

It is a great time to be a Celtics fan.  It is a great time to be a fan of the NBA, as the league is at its best since the days of MJ.

What a difference a year makes.  Amongst all the bickering/kool-aid drinking going on (yes, even being a new member I partake in it too), let's take a moment to remember just how different things are and be grateful for it.

Here's to finishing off '07-'08 with a flurry and looking forward to next year!

Signed,
A very happy season ticket owner (despite way too high concession prices! Wyc is a true businessman!)

God bless and good night!
