Lebron is going to the highest bidder.  Anyone remember him saying he wanted to be the richest athlete in the world? ::)  I guess he'll never be satisfied until he has more money than everyone.  Greedy SOB!

That being said.  He can play for my team anytime. ;D

yea thats why he's going to the nets, they'll be in the worlds biggest endorsment market in 2010.

We need ray and pierce to leave before we can think about getting lebron. He will demand or be in demand for 20 million per year(23-25 per year if he ever won it all as a cav)

That would be a nice dream to have

perk, kg, james, ?, rondo

but lebron is surely off to the knicks (who will give him 20-25 easily per year)

For me i'd like to get al back to play along kg one day

I think its an awesome idea....

Not financially feasible through trade though...and since the Cavs will have the most power to offer Lebron the money it would need to be a sign and trade anyways...

I'm pretty sure the CBA doesn't allow for numbers that big for a max contract for a player with his amount of time in.

Doesn't the max number escalate? The reason why Lebron signed a short term contract is because he knew he'd be able to get more money in 2010

All the Lebron to the nets talk just cracks me up.  for a couple reasons:

The Cavs can offer Lebron a larger contract than any other team in the league when his deal is up.  The Cavs have his Bird rights.  The reason he signed a shorter term deal is because he can maximize a larger deal when this one is up.  It was a very smart business decision.  It also puts stress on Cavs management to make the team a winner instead of letting them idle by.

Finally, the notion that Lebron will have better marketing opportunities in NY/NJ is just laughable.  Do you think people don't know who Lebron is because he is in a small market?  Do you think he doesn't do enough commercials now?  Come on.

If Lebron leaves in 2010 it would be because Cavs management failed to put a talented roster around him.  And if that's the case, I wouldn't blame Lebron for leaving

LeBron is the best player in the league in my opinion.  If your replace him with Paul Pierce... isn't that Cavs team equal to the Celtics last year?  Delonte = Delonte, Wally = Wally, Z = Al, Ben = Perk, Gibson = Rondo...

Bron is a god.  I'd love to have him here.  Not sure how it would work though unless he freaks out and demands to come to Boston... forcing the Cavs to take some kind of sign and trade deal for Ray Allen's expiring contract... or something.

I don't hate LeBron now, he's one of my favorite non-Celts.

As for him wearing the Green -- stranger things have happened.

I also believe he will be headed to the Nets in 2010, Jay-z has already been warned by Stern though to not get to close to Lebron, as it is a slight conflict of interest. I really can't stand Lebron, I think he is a huge part of a lot of what is wrong with the league, but no team wouldn't want him on their team.

so, apparently what is wrong with the league is a superstar who is active in his community, holds annual charity events, keeps himself out of trouble and interacts with kids during his shootarounds?

Got it...I guess what is right with the league would be the one's who cheat on their wives, do drugs, start fights in the stands, get arrested for DUIs, etc.

Celtic, I know you were probably referring to the acting on court, but I felt like making a point here.  Lebron is a good human being outside of being a good basketball player.  The league could use more of those

I really don't care about him off the court at all. He's not my friend, we don't interact, if he's a jerk or a great guy it really doesn't matter. If a guy cheats on his wife and is a great basketball player it really doesn't make a difference, I am watching him to see him play basketball, I have no interest in his private life.

The things he, and guys like Dwyane Wade, are allowed to do on the court is embarrassing to the league. He's allowed to travel whenever he wants, he drives the lane with his arm extended clearing out defenders, and if you breath on him it's a foul. The second set of rules for him is something that shouldn't exist, and all the "Witness," "Savior" nonsense is just stupid. Deny it if you like but Lebron "Global Icon" James buys into it just as much as everyone else. He even has the tattoo to prove it.

But don't worry "A Lebron James team is never desperate."

he's not going to the knicks, the knicks wont be under cap till 2025 thanks to zeke deciding 6 gaurds was a good idea, then decideing he really ment to get zach randolph, who he was activly trying tot rade 2 months later.

the nets will get him, thats why they let kidd go and are getting carter off the books.

sorry, i hate the guy but kobe is a better player than lebron, though lebron is probley #2. lebron is awesome, and if he develops his shot will be the best, but kobe does EVERYTHNG well, he literaly has no weaknesses right now.

If you remove yourself from what you think of him and just watch kobe play, its phenominal to watch...

This post has been edited.  Anyone who read the post before I deleted it please understand that I am a Cavs fan anxiously/nervously waiting for Game 6 and am a little edgey right now.

Celtic, Lebron gets calls, but players have been getting calls since the day I was born.

I would love for the hype/marketing machine to die down and just let basketball players play basketball.
