How come there wasnt a bigger deal made about the elbow that lebron gave when pierce wrapped him up.

it wasnt really an issue. pierce wrapped him up, lebron gave him a small shot, lebron approached pierce and said its all good with pierce expressing the same sentiments.

its not an issue.

because it wasen't a big deal. pierce wrapped him up, lebron was in the middle of throwing down a dunk and tried to get loose. big deal.

honestly, they even fist tapped while lebron was headed to the line to say it was coo.

Let's move on!
Elbows are gonna fly..it's the playoffs.

I can't stomach even thinking about Games 3 & 4. I just hope I see the C's win tonight.

The whole thing wasn't a big deal. Pretend it was game 57 in the regular season and the player involved was Damon Jones instead of LeBron James. It became an issue for these reasons: Network TV, it's the playoffs, it's the playoffs where flagrant fouls have been a storyline perpetuated by the media, it's the NBA and media golden boy - LeBron James, and his mother was involved. I'll bet $$ that both players involved thought nothing of it. And if either on of them did think anything of it, then they really need to grow up.

I can all of your points, but would you guys have the same opinion if that action caused a fight and Pierce was suspended? Or what if he hits another area like the throat and he's injured?

Doesn't matter what their reaction was, throwing an elbow out of anger is not allowed. At least Pierce didn't all to the floor and hold an area that wasn't touched like king faker. >:(

Mildly related note....

Can we get a "Momma's boy" chant going at the Garden tonight?

Someone sitting courtside hollering "You was aalllllways cryin' for yo' MAMA!" a la the film I'm Gonna Get You Sucka (classic, absolutely classic).

Or just "Sit DOWN mom!"

I think LeB showed alot of restraint...why did PP hold on to him into the crowd? Sorry, but LeB had the right to push off on Mr. Sticky. PP needs to get it done on the court, not off the court.

Exactly. And I would be ticked off if Pierce got injured or suspended, but he didn't. To me, the way it played out was no big deal - just a good foul, same as if LeBron were to do the same to Pierce.

I know these are hypotheticals, but my point is a rule shouldn't be ignored because they make up. If Rondo got up and high fived after being thrown to the floor against Atlanta, should there still have been no action taken?

to make sure he didn't fall awkardly since they were both running full speed out of bounds?

but no, your right Pierce totally should have just let  him go once they were past the rim, heck he might have gotten injured that way going head first into a seat, or something! that would have been much better  ::)

It just looked to me like Pierce was going out of his way to hold James up and show good sportsmanship.  It them both a while to catch their balance and Pierce kept hanging on to him until they both had solid footing.  I think Lebron recognized that.  He's just such a load that it was tough for Pierce to get a good hold on him and keep them both standing.
