The Commissioner seems to be upset with the pregame activities prior to Game 4. In fact he is considering a review.

While there at it I think something should be said about how Lebron James is promoted entirely through heresy. His fans are "witnesses" He's King James, He's always got his arms outstretched looking up. I even heard Bill Walton during a game a couple years back say, "Here comes the Messiah and his wise men."

I know were not suppose to talk religion here and that's not my intention. I just think the way he is being promoted is immature, disrespectful and in lines of heresy.

Forget religion all the music and stuff is an insult to real basketball fans and the game. The only reason why they play music in Cleveland and other arenas is that its entertainment for the fans. To watch the game and cheer is not enough because most of them go for the entertainment value of circus halftime shows and beat dancers. Thats why I love going to games when Red was alive, you went to the game because you were a fan and I know for a fact and because I heard it from Red himself, he didnt want cheerleaders. So when he passes what do we do, we get dancers who come during breaks in the game, who arent that great looking and from what most of my female friends who dance say really suck. At least we dont have music playing while the games in progress, atlanta didnt even stop when the shot clock died.

LOL, Ben Wallace is blaming the smoke for getting dizzy the other night.  C'mon Ben, which is it.  1st it was an inner ear infection (which I thought only my 2 year old got), then it was the flu, now its the smoke?  Oh, and let's not forget you played just fine the next game.  Yeah, now I remember you as a Piston and that I HATE you :) (although not as much as I hate Chris Wallace for letting you go... twice)

this felt like an sssn article lol.

i agree with stern though - the fireworks etc are stupid and arena's - particularly the boston garden - should not need them to get the fans on their feet cheering on their team.

100% Maestro!

But, we shouldn't need cheerleaders either!

Let's all stand up and thank the Chicago Bulls of the early 90's for these types of pre-game ceremonies.  Before they did it, nobody did, not even the Lakers.

Between the recent play, the fireworks and the girls, Red must be spinning in his grave faster than a gyroscope.

I found this quote by Stern incredible:

Quote
"I think they're ridiculous,'' Stern said Monday before Game 4 of the Cavaliers-Celtics second-round playoff series. "I think that the noise, the fire, the smoke, is a kind of assault that we should seriously consider reviewing in whether it's really necessary given the quality of our game.''

Perhaps if Stern focused on the quality of officiating and the quality of his game then maybe all the other stuff wouldn't be necessary. I find it hard to believe that he thinks the quality of the NBA game is so awesome that all the other entertainment stuff isn't necessary.

Don't get me wrong, I love NBA basketball, but it's just not as enjoyable of a piece of entertainment to watch as it once was back in the 80's and early 90's.
