I agree with the threadstarter in theory, but in practice... good luck. "Game presentation" is all the rage in the NBA now, and has been for quite a few years now. NBA executives weigh the possiblity of gaining 5 new "fringe fans" with gimmicks like t-shirt cannons and scantily clad woman gyrating at center court far more heavily than the risk of alienating the die-hards.
Because honestly, are you, as a true fan of the Boston Celtics, going to STOP going to Celtics games to protest this "game presentation" madness? Me neither. Sorry, real fans, but we're stuck with this stuff, and as long as it continues to help sell tickets, it's not going away anytime soon.
