dont understand the animosity for walker. he drove us all crazy at times, but this guy bled celtic green.
quick story about toine that shows why i'll always consider him a true celtic. remember at the end of the 04-05 season when we clinched the 3 seed with 2 games left? our next game was in cleveland, and they needed to win to stay in contention for the 8th seed. i was at the game.
our starters didnt play too well, and you could tell the game meant a lot more to the cavs. we were down by about 15-20 in the second half, and doc pulled all the starters.
the backups played the rest of the game, and straight up BALLED on the cavs starters. marcus, delonte, al, tony, justin reed, perk, etc. at one point, we cut the lead all the way down to one. the place was dead quiet, except for all of us celtic fans who were going nuts.
i looked down at the celtic bench, and everyone was just pretty much sitting there, watching the clock tick down (doc, pierce, glove, ricky, blount, raef). except for one guy. walker was literally all the way up the baseline, almost under the basket, cheering for his teammates and going NUTS. the game meant nothing, and at that point, there was a really good chance he'd be gone after the playoffs, yet he still cared about supporting his teammates and being a celtic.
say what you want about his shot selection, lack of athleticism, or the wiggle, but this man was a true celtic.
