A question for anyone watching the Detroit game: aren't officials supposed to stop the game if the clock isnt running?  Therefore, shouldn't Billup's 3 not have counted / Detroit just gets to take the ball out again.

That is a pretty bogus call the officials just made to count the basket.  Obviously, they didnt want to take it away, but I see no basis as to how the shot can be counted.

The inbounds pass happened at 5.1 seconds. Clock froze at 4.8 seconds. Ball was already in play. That's why they didn't wipe it out, because the ball was in play. If the clock froze before the inbounds it wouldn't have counted. So they counted the play and estimated the clock as best they could.

Did anyone see the 5 second violation earlier? That was sweet. Might be the first time I've seen that called this season. The get rid of Mark Jackson's annoying habit rule. Where you're not allowed post up with your back to the basket for more than 5 seconds in certain spots on teh floor. Tayshaun was in the corner at the three point line. Nobody had a clue what the call was. Fun times!

They showed a replay and timed it. It took 5.22 seconds. The three pointer shouldn't have counted.

The refs weren't allowed watch a TV replay because the clock wasn't at zero, it was at 4.8. Bad luck Orlando. Big shot. Three pointer Detroit.

I don't know - - it still seems to me that they made the popular decision, which they didn't even get right, rather than the correct one.  Especially given the uncertainty as to if he got it off in time, they should have at least just replayed it.

Awful shot there by Turkoglu.  He's had a pretty bad game overall.  One more shot for the Magic here though, it would be nice to see them pull this one out on the road.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

That 3 that shouldn't have counted will end up deciding the game.  Tough break for Orlando.

My gosh, how many timeouts do these two teams have? There has to have been at least 6 timeouts used in the last two-three mintues. This is taking forever.
