The problem with Powe is that he hasn't been consistant in doing the little things this postseason.  Hopefully he'll continue the trend because I haven't seen a missed defensive assignment today, and that's always promising.

yeah. there were a few times this series I thought that Powe looked lost on rotations and Posey was playing defense with his hands and not his feet. Looking great today.

i think he just had a difficult assignment with Pachulia. but Zaza was a non-factor today...the whole ATL team really. they missed shots early and never got anything going.

other than some trouble with Pach, i think Powe has been solid.....been solid for most of the year actually....

Watching this game a few times I said to myself:

Posey is Bruce Bowen - in a good way of course.

He'll be our Lebron stopper
He's open for 3 in the corner or the wing, every time.
He takes the charge
He fires up everyone else around him.

When you love life, life loves you right back

Maybe I'm misremembering, but at one point today I think we had a line-up that included Rondo, KG, Powe and Posey and I thought, "Wow - this is a great defensive line-up. This is what this Celtics team is all about." Through either Paul or Ray out there with them and I would like our chances against most of the teams in the playoffs.

nothin bad should be said bout powe and posey cause they play they part well on this team..powe has been outsized by the hawks but he still finds away to put points on the board...posey has done alot but his best games where in our loses so what he has done has been overlooked..we wouldnt be here without both of them..

I would just add Perk to this list and possibly Rajon. People who don't watch the Celtics all the time just don't understand it about these guys.
It kind of makes me think about the argument:  who was better, Bird or Magic or Jordan. Magic and Jordan were flash and people who saw them occasionally obviously thought they were better. Bird was subtle and killed you without you even being aware you were being killed. He could be invisible to people who didn't see him all the time. For the record, and to create controversy, I'll go on record and say Bird was the best of the three.

I agree (except Pose was great today), but I think KG really says it best. It's not about any individual, it's about the 15 players on the roster.

I can certainly sympathize with you, (TP), and while I can't say I think Bird was the best of the three, I can say that he was my favorite. Both Jordan and Magic had much more natural ability than Bird, and while they obviously worked very hard to get to where they were, Larry had to work that much harder, and he knew it. That, to me, is what was so endearing about Bird: every bit of his success was fought for ... very diligently.

Absolutely ... mine, too. I would have given him 3 votes today in the MVP Poll, and Pierce three as well, with 22 points, 8 rbs, 3 ast, and 2 stls, he was a man with a mission!

Everyone contributed .... even Big Baby had 6 points! The only one who struggled with his offense was Ray, and he added some of those "intangibles". One of Perk's best, though, and it came at a very good time!

Absolutely, and I would add exhibit c, Kendrick Perkins.  He was an absolute man today.

As much as I love Ray Allen, this team NEEDS to have both Perkins and Posey on the floor during crunch time against the Cavs.  With Posey on Lebron, and Perkins and Garnett both closing out on the pick and rolls and protecting the basket, it is by far our best chance to prevent Lebron from attacking the rim.

Powe was great today, but the defense by Perkins and Posey was extraordinary.

You'd like to see Ray Allen sitting at the end of the game for Posey and Perkins?

Celtics would lose a lot of offense in that. It's unlikely Posey would challenge Wally off the dribble or off of off the ball screens. Could cure some pecking order problems late in the game though. Lose a lot offense. Could open the door wider for Bron, easier to outscore two than three especially when the third man will have the best matchup.
