John Ryder on 'eei just said that Pierce is now boycotting the media.  I guess the guy still has not matured.

Probably a wise move. All those gang sign questions and now the questions about how he handled fouling out tonight plus all the other pressure questions about how a 66 win team hasn't been able to beat a 37 win team. I think it's a wise move.

Let him.

I can care less about what they have to say right now.

I want them to figure out what is wrong with them.

Are you kidding me? I can not blame PP at all. He already got fined over something stupid. And these last 2 games he has not gotten any calls. so I am sure he is afraid to say anything that will result in another bogus fine. personally I would rather him not talk then, wrap his face with bandages again. take the day off paul, come back sunday and and lets get it done.

Pierce got hosed multiple times, can't blame the guy for getting a bit upset. The media in sports is just plain out of hand lately. I suppose it is our fault for wanting to know all the ins and outs of what is going on, but the stress/trouble it puts players through is just getting out of hand. I honestly believe to some extent that the officials are biased towards a higher command even though I hate to believe how that works, but I mean... [dang].

Pierce needs to grow up.  He's developed a habit of acting like a giant baby in the playoffs, and it's not becoming, at all.  It's not so much the media thing, as the stupid technical foul, and the storming towards the Hawks bench the other night.  It bothers me.

What happened to the Paul Pierce that put the team on his back against the Nets?  Why are we stuck with the technical-foul-and-bandage-around-the-jaw version?  What happened?

Another thing I noticed about Pierce tonight:

After PP fouled out, after a timeout... Pierce was standing up still talking to the refs. Doc emphatically ordered him to sit down TWICE. Pierce shook his head no, didn't sit down, and Doc flailed his arms and gave up.

Can't blame him for not wanting to talk to the media. Just avoiding a fine for badmouthing some awful officiating.

Why should any player in any sport talk to the media if he doesn't want to? They all learn to fend off the media vultures with "coachspeak" anyway.
As far as PP's maturity, he was fouled out of a playoff game on a ridiculous foul call off the ball and he tossed his headband to the floor. Horrors!!!!! How could anyone do such a thing! What a childish show of emotion!

Pierce probably doesn't want to say something he might regret...hence the boycott.

He's obviously upset about the foul that fouled him out of a huge game at a crucial point in the game.

Can anyone seriously say that there seemed to be a foul on anyone on that play as it was happening? And after the play is over the whistle is blown and a foul is called away from the ball. Sure Pierce had his arm wrapped around Zaza but the ball is already in the hoop, there's no rebound and you call a 6th foul on the best player in the series and foul him out in the 4th quarter of a close game?

That's just mind boggling....this is the playoffs people...you need to let the players play and decide the games.

We can harp on Pierce's technical foul and how he should have kept his emotions in check but it's obvious he doesn't react like that if he isn't fouled out of an important game.

That foul call just manufactured 2 more free throws for the Hawks and basically took our best scorer off the floor for the rest of the 4th quarter.

On top of that it adds on to the growing frustrations and contributes greatly to the tightness of the rest of the C's players....no wonder they would miss so many put backs, layups, and 2 footers.

The refs had a huge impact on this game and it should never be the case in the playoffs.

Its the wrong time/place to address any issues from this series...finish the series, even the playoffs, and then do what you need to do.All you will do is draw negative attn. to yourself at this stage of the game.Paul needs to back off and settle down, and just go win Sunday's game.
