i wish these guys would get a little angrier DURING the game. clearly it isn't happening after the games because they would have won game 4.

Pierce did get angry after he got called for his 6th foul and lost his temper, got T'd up and cost his team a point -- which could have cost them the game as your options with a 2 pt deficit and 7 seconds to go are a lot greater than when you're down 3.

Rondo lost his composure too trying to do it all himself on the play before Doc pulled him.

There is such a thing as too much emotion in a situation like that.

I am so NOT excited to go to Sunday's game.  Sorry, but that is the truth.  I will not sell my tickets, however, and will go.  But how the hell can a real Celtics' fan who watched them win all of those championships as I did get excited for a first round, game 7 against the 37-win Atlanta Hawks?  This performance -- coaching staff and players -- has been PATHETIC.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
i recall reading around these parts last week about "unimportant" games in the playoffs...any of you who hold that view still feel the same tonight?

I dont know about anyone else but assuming we win sunday afternoon, I do think that this season is not over. I think we just need to get rid of the Hawks and move on. The Hawks are in there head and once they dismiss them once in for all, I believe that they will regain focus in a brand new series against the star of the NBA. They need to move on plain and simple and start fresh with a new series where Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, and co. aren't running up and down the floor going crazy and playing out of their minds. I know the Cavs will have Lebron doing this, but we just need a new start and get over these Hawks.

Heck I'm even unsure we will win game 7.
Starting to have that (wierd and unnerving) perfect storm feeling going on right now

Caltics will pull it out.

I refuse to predict anything my last prediction did not go well. :-\ But the way they play at home is so different then on the road...

The saddest part of all this is that even when we squeak this series out, you have shown the other teams how to effectively beat you.

And that is what is so infuriating. They were one of the best road teams during the regular season. What the hell happened to that road team?

the hawks are something like 12-17 since they got bibby.
16-20 is their exact record since Bibby joined if I'm recalling correctly which is 44% which is 36.44 wins.

Bibby has brought one/two things to this team = Confidence and Belief

His skills haven't added anything to the side. He isn't their leader either from anything I've seen or heard. But the idea (even if it's a lie) of him being a quality player has brought the team confidence for big occassions like this.

....But that's just the thing, where's the POSITIVE emotion from this team? Where's the Ubuntu? Where's KG rallying the troops. Maybe I think it all should be a bit too story book, but where is the group of guys who came to Boston to win a championship TOGETHER.

They were my words and yes I still believe that game to be a thoroughly unimportant loss

and that is... trade for Josh Smith??? The celts have matchup up poorly against the uber athletic, too young to know any better Hawks - I think we match up much better against the Cavs, especially knowing they have guys like Wally World on the perimiter who can't guard a piece of toast

By some of the posts here I'm starting to think Bibby was correct. Too many front runners and bandwagon jumpers. If I just read the posts here and didn't watch the game I would think we lost by 30. A little fairness in officiating and we win. A few more good plays we win. Some better coaching decisions we win.

It astounds me that anyone cannot think that the Celts' road performance in this series has been pathetic.  The Celtics deserve all of the grief they are getting tonight for the way they have played in Atlanta.  I still cannot get that last play out of my mind with Rondo hung out 30 feet from the basket.  It looked as if no one on the floor knew how much time was left in the game.
