I have never been one to justify the notion that Stern has a Celtics bias.  I have never thought that anything funny was going on, and that remains the case.  BUT, twice tonight he has made moronic, inappropriate comments for the commissioner of the league.

First, when asked (not on the comcast sports net channel...whichever the other one was) about what qualifies as a menacing gesture he responded something to the close effect of: any gesture that that Stu thinks is menacing.  First, he didnt even really seem to know what the gesture in question was. Second, he had to know he was going to be asked, so the failure to at least make something up in advance that he would respond looks terrible.  He was asked on both broadcasts and he failed to give a response in either situation.

Second, when asked about the appeal process, he replied in a smug manner that yes they have an appeal, and it is heard by him.  He basically admitted on national tv that despite the appeal process he had already made up his mind and wasnt planning an changing his mind.  That is atrocious.  and if it is the case, the players union needs to get up off their butts because that defeats the whole purpose.

As I said, I never really had a problem with Stern, but watching him tonight left me with an extremely bitter taste in my mouth.

David Stern can rot in hell. I've got better things to do than watch this corrupt league (and corrupt is the accurate term to describe the commissioner who has no interest in anything except maximizing revenues at the expense of the integrity of the game). I'd rather take my dog for a walk. I swear I can't take this crap anymore. I can't take it.

That  eating grin on that face of his made me want to puke all over my big screen TV..It actually looked like he had done a few lines before he was interviewed and washed it down with a few bong hits. By the way, loved all those fouls his refs called on us in the first 10 minutes of the game..that was priceless. Nice to know all of the tried and true veterans got no respect while the young get lots...F Stern and F Doc for putting us in this situation in the first round...

no profanity please, Redz

Wow - this is classic stuff here. I can't wait till Stern and his "henchmen" suspend Perkins for game 5 for stepping on the court during the Zazu forehead plow. That should evoke all-time epic posting!

Please don't remind me.

If Perkins gets himself suspended, I am going to blow a gasket.

Can it even be considered an altercation with such little penalty to the man who did the head butting?

Because how the players acted on the court and having to be separated, Perkins could have done something really stupid.

Never trusted him since he basically let the refs off the hook for breaking league policy on the gambling issue. This comes after he makes his stance that the rules are written in stone after the suspensions of Stoudamire & Diaw last year in the playoffs. HIPPOCRIT!!!  >:(
