Wow Josh Smith and Joe Johnson have scored the last 34 points. Incredible. What a performance from those two guys. Great hustle by Childress and Horford too. Some smart screens by Bibby for Joe. Great finish by Atlanta.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Remember how everyone was saying what a mistake it was by Horford to get in Paul's face, and how a great team like the Celtics was going to be so angry they would kill the Hawks tonight, guess not. The Celtics will win the series, but they sure looked like pretenders tonight.

They'll win in 6

who is "they"?

Haha

C'mon Atlanta can't be making you that nervous?

Boston will win in 6. They'll take care of business in the next two and move on.

embarrassing.

that was a combination of choke job, Joe Johnson playing up to his salary, and Doc making many questionable decisions.

33 to 18. That's the number of free throws in Atlanta's favor. Couple this with Stern's quote about not making it back to Boston and essentially the worst game of the season...

I gotta say, the one thing that stood out for me tonight...like most everyone on this site, I have followed them every game all season.  This is the first time I have seen them play intimidated.  They looked like they wanted no part of the Hawks in the 4th it was embarrassing.  They were scared to get a shot blocked and wouldn't go to the basket.

And to Doc...on the play late where JJ just BLEW by Ray Allen, you could see Doc in the replay clearly yelling "[dang] it Ray!" (I know the admins don't want expletives on here, but this is quoting Doc, so Admins, take it out on him please  :P) The point being, did Doc really need 85 games to realize that Ray Allen can't guard elite offensive players?!?!?!  Johnson was getting to the hoop at will and Doc never switched Ray off of him.  Just foolish and embarrassing.  KG spent the first 8 minutes of the 4th 20 feet from the basket.

That being said, the Hawks probably played the best 2 games of their lives, and probably could have beaten almost any team playing the way they did this weekend, so hats off to them.  Still doesn't get rid of the frustration...

Are you sure you're a Boston sports fan? You sound optimistic.  ;)

let's remember that Doc has yet to win a playoff series as a head coach! What was Leon doing in the game with 5 mins left in 4th? Especially when Doc said Leon was not producing? And then FINALLY switching Ray off JJ with less than 2 mins left? Fire Doc!?  ;D

wow, could this be the surprise series of the playoffs?   hope not.

i thought we could have used TA in this game.  no one really guarded joe johnson well.  among the players who guarded joe in this game, pierce should have been the one on johnson down the stretch.

Looks like the relatively subdued reaction to losing Game Three isn't going to follow after Game Four. Ah well.

I already posted this in the comments, since I could not post in this thread:

The last 34 points for the Hawks have been made by 2 players, Joe Johnson and Josh Smith.

We have the third best defense all.time.

Is there any way to blame Doc for this?
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.
