Arlen Spector is wondering what Jeff is doing with 180 TPs in 74 posts in the last 5 weeks. Hmmmmm.

RINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!

Hold on telephone.........

Really? That so? Wow!

John Tomasi just called and told me that Senator Spector hired a special investigator and that a report will be issued discussing Tommy Points and their effect on blogging as well as the fact that the report will be naming names.

Big Big news. One source is already linking info that Tommy Points have been abused at Celticsblog but that the defense being issued by many Celtic fans is what they are labeling as "the Championship Effect".

Still others are now trying to have an asterisk placed next to many of the posters names that have recently skyrocketed during the TommyPointGate Era of Celticblog history.

Stay tuned.

I think I'll take the Giambi stance.  I am very, very sorry, ...for something.  I can't say what.  But I'm sorry.

This little Green statue was found in El Salvador and dates back to 600BC.

Edgar lives in El Salvador and just got his 600th Tommy Point.

A coincidence?  I think not!!!

Congratulaciones a nuestro amigo de El Salvador.

El Rey Hispanico de los Puntos de Tommy!!!

Way to go Edgar, great job.

Can someone please explain to me how Jeff jumped 90 TPs in 15 minutes?

Just wondering?

nick, i dont think you are going to get an answer.  similar to how the previous "tp gate" was brushed off.

First, Jeff's TPs didn't jump 90 TPs in 15 minutes; the table Redz put up previously had several mistakes in it, as he explained.

Second, I don't like the implication that we have something to hide here.  The TPs of several members, both staff and non-staff, jumped precipitously.  However, somehow only the staff is being questioned, while the non-staff is labeled as "legit".

Third, we're looking into it.  We've seen strange Tommy Point activity amongst certain members for quite some time, leading to speculation that includes, among other things, site hacks, Tommy Point exchange programs, and members creating alternate accounts to boost their own TP totals.  Some of the totals around here, and the TP ratios, are unprecedented in the history of this blog, yet it is only the staff people are pointing fingers at.

"TP-gate" is fun, and I appreciate nick's contributions.  However, certain members are taking it *way* too seriously.  That's the last that's going to be said on the subject.

Just so that people understand, and I have related this to a mod and a non mod memeber of this site via PM and who if they wish to come forward can to confirm this, my "TommyPointGate" posts were for entertainment purposes only and were meant as humor to break the monotony of the off-season. I have thought the whole thing to be nothing but a joke from the get go. So people's TP's went up fast. From what I've seen people are in a lot better moods about giving them out sice a certain team last won a game.

Again, as Roy said, if people are thinking I am in any way questioning the validity of Tommy Point increases they are extremely wrong.

THIS WAS MEANT AS AN ENTERTAINMENT DIVERSION ONLY!!

It is why I have included both moderator and non-moderator members of this site.

If people are under the impression that I am seriously questioning the Tommy Point totals of such esteemed members of our community like Roy, wdleehi, Bahku, jay_jay54, or others I have included in my farce they are out of their minds!!! These members are beyond question in anything they do on this site!! They have earned our respect and every TP they got.

And as for Jeff, to think that someone would take what I have attempted to humorously portray as a slight in Jeff's direction or questioning him then, again, you are out of your minds!!

I believe I have started at least 3 or 4 threads thanking Jeff, Bob, and the mods for their work here at various times. I feel that strongly about what they do here and the thankless jobs they do, that I go out of my way to every once and a while start a thread letting them know that we here appreciate the forum they provide to us.

How many of you can say you have started even one such thread?

Jeff should get a TP from every member of this blog every time we log on because without him and the team he assembled behind the scenes we would not be friends and commisserating and celebrating fools together.

No disrespect Roy's way and he knows how I feel about him, but Jeff Clark should be the TP King of this site whether he posts another postor writes another front page article ever again.

If people want me to continue my attempt at entertainment, maybe in the future I will. But for the sake of all concerned, I am halting the story where I left it. Perhaps Roy, wd, Chris, Don, Redz and the boys can give me a better idea when it would be appropriate to continue it if ever.

I really am disappointed that people out there could have inferred that this was in some way a finger pointing in the mod's direction or had roots in reality in any way.

Shame on you!

My sincerest apologies to Jeff, Roy, wdleehi, Bahku, jayjay or anyone else who may have been bothered by anything I wrote or anything someone else may have interpretted from my attempt at having some fun. I hope you were not too inconvenienced by my actions, they were meant as harmless humor. I am sorry.

well put nick.

i love the celtics and love discussing the team, as does everyone else on here...why else are we here, lol.  but i especially enjoy this 100 tp thread.  it give members the opportunity to acknowledge and give congrats to other posters for their contributions, and we do it in a humorous way with lots of images, lol.

I think Bob Day must faint when he views this thread, because it and the "we have a new star" thread most take up more resources than any other 50 threads combined.

Our official rule on images in posts:  "You may include one image in a post as long as that image is no larger than 460x460 pixels and 20KB in file size."

That one has been, um, "relaxed" in this thread.
