Finally, opening night and what better way to open the season with a Superbowl rematch: Patriots at Seahawks. This will be the all-Patriots thread discussion for the season.

Gonzo signs his extension. Defense looks healthy. They loaded up the receiver corps with AJ Brown and Romeo Doubs. Will Campbell is healthy now and with a intact OL to protect Maye. Maye was outdone of MVP by Stafford last season so here's some redemption hopefully. Going to be a tough (schedule) and fun season.

Not sure what to expect tonight in what is, to be sure, a hostile and rowdy environment. Hopefully, the defense keeps its momentum from last season.  Def want to see improved oline protection for Maye and excited to see the revamped receiving corps.  Expecting a loss but hopefully its a close one.

The spread is currently SEA -3.5, to me, that is a pretty close game.  I would be perfectly fine if NE plays well in game 1 but loses a close game to a good team on the road.  Not like last season where they played bad in game 1 and lost to a bad team (Raiders) at home.

It seems that a lot of the media think the NE defense took a step back from last season.  I don't see that.  I think the defense will be fine.  They have some injuries, some soft spots, like every team, but I think they will be fine.  SEA ran all over us in the Superbowl.  Can't let that happen again.  But that was not the case for most of the season.

My larger concern is the OL.  It needs to be better.  Can't have Maye sacked 47 times again (or spend as much time running for his life).

Rooting for the Pats, but I think the Seahawks take this one 24-17.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I like Drake Maye.

Legs are doing a lot of the work tonight.  He?s been the difference as Seattle?s lines outplaying Pats a bit on both sides. Pats fortunate that Darnold is out. Love the flea flicker to get AJ some space.  Maye underthrew but it worked out.

Looks like Superbowl LX all over again.

And Romeo Doubs isn't giving a very good first impression...and him wearing that #87 jersey makes me sick now

This has always been my concern with Maye. He has all the physical talent in the world, but his decision making is not great.
