Wondering who will take the last shot in a tight game? With James' handling the ball in clutch we may not see Brown and his stupid late turnovers. But, there will be some disgruntled players at the end of a tight game. Agree with what other posters said too that defense would be the achilles heels of the Sixers. Teams will exploit it.

Brad putting a lot of faith in the young guys that Joe jerked around last year with his BS rotations. Walsh, Baylor, Hugo and Cenac need to have defined roles they can grow in.

It is one thing in July to be excited about thinking you are forming a super team.  It is another thing to figure out how to work it all out when you are struggling in the middle of the season, which will happen.  Maxey and Jaylen tied for the number of FGAs last season.  JB, Maxey, and LeBron were three of the top 24 in usage last year, and Embiid would have been top 5 if he played enough.  JB over the last five year prior to last season (when his usage was inflated because of no Tatum) averaged a 29.9% usage, not far off Tatum?s 31.4% over the same period.  And JB at many times felt underused.  There is no way he gets that sort of usage in Philly if they are healthy.  He is going to have to adjust his expectations.

The kids were alright last season and exceeded expectations until Slow Joe changed the rotations in the playoffs and exhausted the starters.

This just confirms everything about Lebron's despicable character that I have observed since his nauseating post-game display after he FINALLY beat the Celtics in the 2011 playoffs after exiting Cleveland and forming his own team in Miami. Unlike many superstars in the past, who stayed with their respective teams and overcame initial failures to eventually win titles, Lebron has become the worst type of ring chaser in sports history. He has lost respect of many previous players who will never consider him their equal.

That would be a nice move for Philly. KCP can be their backup wing. They don't have one at the moment. At least no-one proven at the NBA level.

Gives them a good 8 man rotation. That star powered starting 5 plus A Simons (guard), KCP (wing), and Dean Wade (big) off the bench.

Some deep bench pieces beyond it. The two backup centers in Hukporti & A Bona. A pair of bench PFs in T Watford and D Barlow. Their rookie draft pick at guard in L Philon. A stopper at SG in Dalen Terry. Justin Edwards & Jabari Walker at SF. That is 16 players. They probably will need to waive someone.

I'd love to see them bring one of those guys off the bench preferably LeBron or Jaylen. Edgecombe is also an option. Put in a lower usage 3+D player in that starting lineup instead.

Embiid would also be interesting off the bench but his ego couldn't take it. Put in a younger rim roller big man. They signed Hukporti from NYK and have Adem Bona. Play run and gun basketball around your 3 real stars - Maxey, Jaylen, Edgecombe. LeBron can fit into that style of ball as more of a glue guy. Stop Embiid from wrecking their transition game, defensive quickness, clogging their offense.

I was thinking the same thing. It'd also allow them to have a more consistent starting lineup, instead of having it change whenever Embiid misses games for load management (or an injury). And lower minutes overall (especially in the first half of games) would help keep him fresher for high-leverage situations (he'd obviously still be part of the closing lineup)

Dalen Terry is not guaranteed and Jabari Walker is only guaranteed $250k, so it is almost certainly those two.

Total talent level is obviously through the roof, but what jumps out at me in the negative:

1. Below average outside shooters.
2. Lousy defensively.
3. LeBron and Embiid are 100 years old.

If they get the chemistry right with the younger guys (Maxey, Edgecombe, Brown) leading the way, LeBron orchestrating (still a plus passer and plus efficiency scorer), and Embiid is more of the ultimate wild card / matchup buster... and true role players emerge... they could be a Finals contender.

Of course, expecting great chemistry and optimal roles out of this group sounds about as likely as simultaneous peace amongst OC Housewives and the Middle East, but maybe that's just me.
