Worth a gamble at the minimum.

Beal could be an upgrade at starting SG.

Beal only played 6 games last year. He was at 53 games in each of his previous 2 seasons spent in Phoenix. His numbers in PHX were:

32.7mpg
17.6ppg 4.3apg 3.9rpg 1.0spg 0.5bpg
50.5% FG 40.7% 3PT 80.8% FT 60.3% TS

Low free throw rate. Only 2.6 FTA on 13.5 FGA.
3PT rate is average. 4.7 3PTA on 13.5 FGA.

Think he's cooked but I'd take a flyer on the minimum I guess.  He's Tatum's boy, for whatever that's worth.

Beal looked awful the games I saw of his in his last season in Phoenix.  There is a reason they torched their cap situation for multiple years but stretching him.  Maybe he just hated it there or whatever and so did not care, but I was embarrassed to watch him play defense.  Might as well sign Cam Thomas (and no, we should not sign Cam Thomas).

Although I have never been a fan of Beal & his lack of competitive drive, it would be worth offering him a vet minimum. If Beal was to succeed anywhere it would be in Boston.

White
Beal
Tatum
George
Robinson

Prichard
Scheierman
Gonzalez
Hauser
Queta

Conley Jr
Harper Jr
Walsh
Cenac Jr
Garza

No way should Beal start.  2nd stringer at most.

My view is that unless Beal is completely washed, he is best utilized in the starting line up because he can be hidden on defence. If Beal was to come off the bench, players like Prichard & Scheierman would exasperate his defensive weaknesses.

I would just view as a shooter at this stage in his career. Asking for anything else would be setting ourselves up for disappointment.

Minimium for a rotation shooter? Sure. Is that what Beal is looking for/being discussed? No idea

Traditionally the "second lineup" didn't really matter because one of the J's was basically always on the floor except in garbage time. With one less, it will be interesting to. See how the rotation works. Jt with second unit guys and then when he is out both white and PG are in?

Pritchard & D White did a good job together without Jaylen on the floor last year. I imagine they will play together while Tatum rests. I don't think PG13 will be the guy.

Here's the "intel":

Quote
Jake Fischer: ?I was told today that Bradley Beal?s decision is not exactly being held up by LeBron, but is being impacted by it. I do think there?s some Miami interest there, and I would not rule out Boston for Beal because of the connection with Jayson Tatum. (?) He could go back to the Clippers. (?) Beal is definitely going to be signed by a team with playoff aspirations, that is my understanding there.?

So, just pure speculation because he and JT are friends.
