On Saturday, Tatum and James were seen spending time with each other at a concert, fueling rumors that he could be considering signing with the C?s in free agency. Again, the pair were seen at a Jay-Z concert on Sunday night, which has led to Boston generating some real traction in the James free agency sweepstakes from seemingly out of nowhere

Is it gonna happen?

Nah.  I mean, the fit would actually be great.  He could play a lot more on ball here than Miami, Philly, or Cleveland.  We need at least a secondary ballhandler on the wing, if not a primary one.  But he has spent the last 18 years with Boston as one of his top rivals, if not his top depending on the year.  As someone rightly thinking about his legacy, finishing his career in a Celtics uniform just has to be too big a hurdle.

But we are favorites in the East with him.

Agree. I never want LeBron in a Cs uniform.

I don't think LeBron thinks about rivalries that way even a little bit. Everything is 100% about him, and how a franchise can add to his *personal* legacy. Same way Durant had no issue joining GSW.

His goal would be to win titles in MIA, CLE, LA and BOS in this scenario, so he could say he was the guy who made it all happen.

Not that I think this is going down, but yeah, I wouldn't bet on some sort of competitive integrity holding him back.

Then he should come here and do that.  The Celtics are already the #2 team in the East behind NY, and LeBron fits here better than he does elsewhere.  But I do not think he has ever or will ever seriously consider Boston.

Why isn't LeBron looking at DET?

A near title contender. No 2nd option. No quality PF so Bron can fit right in there. Cade will do the heavy lifting. DET look perfect to me for LeBron.

This is ridiculous, he made up his mind where he's playing long ago and it's not Boston.

The only mystery is why he's taking so long to announce it. All the other FAs have already signed. My best guess is he's waiting till after the World Cup Final so the media spotlight is increased.

It?s a power play to satisfy his ego and that of Rich Paul. He likes the idea that at 41 years old, 16 years from his first Decision, he can still make the league stop and have GMs beg for his services, even if he?s only gonna be signing for an MLE or a vet min. He likes the idea that people are speculating about it, hoping he?s  gonna pick their team, like we are right now  :police:

I will be stunned if LeBron ends up in BOS.   My bet is CLE.

I also hate LeBron, but I am pretty sure I could quickly learn to like him if he came to Boston.

This.  He & his team knows his decision is the biggest thing left in the NBA offseason news cycle.  They are gonna milk this decision to death.
