So Hugo is going to go from out of the rotation in the playoffs to a starter in just a few months time. Lol

What makes you say that?

Folks keep saying he should be starting. I?m not saying it

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Depends on the rotation. I like him as an energy guy off the bench, especially if he continues to have a high plus/minus impact. Bringing him and Pritchard off the bench is pretty explosive.

But he could start too and he/George could switch against the other team's best offensive players.

Hugo needs to be able to take 4-5 threes per game at 34-36% 3PT. That is it. That is all he needs to be able to do to be good enough to start for this team next year.

It is not that large of a task. He can do it.

Here is a Hugo stat for you:

So Hugo was an advanced stat darling with his on/off numbers / adjusted +/-. And of course we know D White is an advanced stat darling too.

Databallr has a stat for the best 2 man pairings in the NBA. Guess who was top of the list?

D White & Hugo = 521 minutes together = 122.2 offensive rating 104.9 defensive rating +17.3 net rating

521 minutes together is a good sample size.

All the other top 2 man ratings where Spurs or OKC. Wemby & someone. Or SGA and someone. Chet & Hartenstein were another one for OKC.

Hugo is a strong rebounder.

The starting lineup I think will need someone who can guard the other teams best perimeter player. JB did do that quite often and that?s not a burden we will want to put on Tatum, PG or White. I do not think Pritchard or Hauser can be that guy so that is where I expect it will come down to Walsh Hugo or Baylor.  Unsure who it will be but I think Walsh is probably at the bottom of that group although I do like him too.

Tonje is a sniper. 6-8 from the field and 3-5 from 3pt

I'm looking more at his command of the game in general.  he always hustles but today it seems more like hustle with a purpose and his shooting, other than 3s, is better

Hugo does everything well except shooting.

I'm starting to think Brad nailed the Cenac pick. It's gonna be fun watching this guy develop.
