Now, expand the trade and send JB to LA for Ingram, Dunn, and a couple of firsts.

I was thinking of a similar expanded deal with us and NOLA where we get Ingram and Murphy, NOLA gets the picks, and we send out JB and Hauser if needed.

G: Quickley, J Shead
G: RJ Barrett, Ja'Kobe Walter
F: Kawhi Leonard, Allen Graves (1st round pick)
F: Scottie Barnes, Collin Murray Boyles
C: J Poeltl, Trayce Jackson-Davis

It sounds like they won't be able to retain Mamu. That they do not have the cap room below the luxury tax or 2nd apron or whatever it is that they are trying to avoid. Word is that Mamu will get offers in the $10mil range which prices Toronto out. They wanted to keep him but his good play last year pushed him out of TOR's price range.

Toronto fans are unhappy with Quickley. They like him when he plays but he has been injured far too often. They think he is unreliable. TOR needs to trade him and find someone more reliable. He could be the cog that undoes their whole machine.

I think they still really need to upgrade that PG spot. Im wondering if they could go after Fox; I think they were linked to him a few months ago.

A RJ Barrett for D Fox based swap?

G: Dylan Harper
G: S Castle
F: RJ Barrett
F: Champagnie
C: Wemby

G: D Fox, J Shead
G: Ja'Kobe Walter, Quickley
F: Kawhi
F: S Barnes
C: Poeltl

That looks like a lot of money tied up for TOR. 3 max deals with Kawhi, D Fox, S Barnes. Big money in both Poeltl and Quickley. Maybe Quickley goes back to San Antonio as well.

RJ Barrett & Quickley for D Fox. Quickley becomes their main backup guard. He was very good in that role for NYK.

San Antonio would have Quickley & Devin Vassell off the bench on the perimeter. Kornet as their backup big. Keldon Johnson as a backup forward. That is an exceptional bench. Young Carter Bryant as next man up. Harrison Barnes as a deep reserve.

Brandon Ingram sucks. He was a complete dog in the playoffs averaging 12pts/3rebs/2ast. Hard pass on Ingram in Green.

It has not, thankfully.

Dean Wade bothered him a lot. Having a 6-10 PF who was quick enough to check Ingram took away Ingram's usual advantages. He is normally quick enough to get around bigger defenders or he plays over the top of smaller defenders from the midrange. Wade took away both routes for Ingram.

Ingram has 3 career playoff series. All 1st round losses. He played very well in one of them (his 1st back in 2022 against PHX) and terribly in the 2 others. Against D Wade and against OKC in 2024. I don't remember the OKC series. It was probably Lu Dort who was defending him that series. No Zion so Ingram would have been the main assignment.

Kinda wild the Raptors gave up more for 35 year old Kawhi Leonard than 27 year old Kawhi Leonard.

Raptors gave up this for 35-year-old Kawhi:
Brandon Ingram
Gradey Dick
2 firsts
1 swap
2 seconds

Raptors gave up this for 27-year-old Kawhi:
DeMar DeRozan
Jakob P?ltl
1 first (Keldon Johnson)

Obviously, the circumstances are different. Leonard after the 2017-18 season had a lot of uncertainty with a weird injury and he wasn't committing to sign anywhere but Los Angeles. Leonard now is coming off a healthy, dominant individual season and fully committed to extending in Toronto.

Still, I don't think anyone could have seen things playing out this way when the Kawhi trade happened in 2018. No chance.

Kawhi Leonard to the Raptors has been agreed to, sources tell ESPN. The Clippers will receive unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, 2030 and 2033 second-round picks and a 2027 first-round swap.

Man, those picks are gold. Way out in the future.

Toronto gave up a ton for a 35yo oft injured star. Going to get a big payday here too. Kawhi will be long gone from Toronto by the time those picks come to fruition.

Paying that heavy a price ... anything less than a title during this Kawhi 2.0 Raptors era will be a failure.

If Toronto wanted a Jaylen Brown, they should've just called Brad for him.

Give us those unprotected picks man wow. I'll even take on Brandon Ingram
