Former NFL Offensive Player of the Year and All-Pro running back Chris Johnson has gone public with his 2025 diagnoses of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Despite only having a recent diagnosis, the disease had progressed to the point he has to use a speech-producing device to talk.

Watching that GMA interview and seeing Johnson need a speaking device was shocking & heartbreaking.

His '09 season was ridiculous.  2000+ yards and ran the ball over 350 times.

Devastating illness. Saw the bodies of a close friend and my grandfather (50+years ago) deteriorate, while brain stays intact. An absolutely torturous disease. Feel for him, family and friends. even more sorry that it seems that it's progressing rapidly.
