There is some belief that the Celtics front office would consider offers based more on younger prospects, picks and pick swaps for Jaylen Brown.

The longer this goes on, the worse it is for everyone involved.

If boston is considering moving him for prospects, picks and swaps and they are a win now team...what are we doing here? That is pretty much a rebuild. Last thing the Cs need to get is younger where they have to wait on players to develop.

If this is the route just trade White also.

Taking it from JB?s POV? I think the guy also deserves his own team. As long as he plays with Tatum, he will always be viewed as not ?the guy?.

At this point, he has won a championship. He?s made all-NBA. He?s an allstar. The only thing he hasn?t been is unquestionably be the franchise player.

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but is it possible we were just driving the price up for Miami?

Possible.  Not likely, however.

May as well trade White, etc., and blow it up at that point,.  Which would make me wonder, why the heck didn't we do this last season?

Trading Jaylen for a downgrade seems like a really odd move to me.  It would scream of ownership not wanting to commit to his extension as much as anything else.

My best guess is he goes to Houston or Atlanta for whatever package they can muster.

Brad either should've just caved in and included Hugo and Baylor with Brown for Giannis and Portis.

Now he gotta scramble and find some other alternatives.

Should just call the Pelicans and ask for Zion and Murphy plus others. Probably the next best thing out there

I do not think ownership wants to pay him that extension and that is the crux for all of this. Trading a win now team for future picks, swaps and young players is just punting on Tatum's prime.

I agree it would be a huge mistake to trade JB for parts. I really feel we should have gone all in on Giannis and included Hugo if that was the big hold up.

Tatum will be 29 at the end of this season, White is 32. We are in win now mode at this point. Giannis would have been perfect.

I would not give Brown an extension. He is a great player, but he overlaps Tatum too much. You don?t want to have both of them taking up a large majority of the cap, even more than they already do.
