Predictions Between Now and Draft Day?

This will be an interesting week for the Celtics.
The draft is coming up on June 23rd, and there are a lot of rumors flying around.
The biggest one, of course, is whether Boston makes a move for Giannis Antetokounmpo before the draft.
The Celtics have several directions they could go:
Stay put and make their draft pick.
Make a smaller roster move and prepare for next season.
Pull off a blockbuster trade for Giannis.
Surprise us all with something nobody is talking about.
There are so many possibilities right now, what is your prediction?
What do you think Brad Stevens will do between now and draft night?

Your use of the phrase requires me to ask.  Have we crossed the Rubicon with Jaylen do you think?  If he is not traded in a deal with Giannis, must he be moved somewhere else?  It has seemingly become too public this time, compared to prior rumors.

Nothing significant for Boston. They could still make a trade before the Draft but maybe something like Hauser and pick(s) for a player but that's about it. They'll focus their efforts more in the FA period with adding 2 players (one with TPE, one with MLE). I wouldn't rule out a White trade but I think it'll be Hauser that gets traded as they add a big man and a guard/wing while Baylor/Hugo/Harper's roles all increase.

Giannis will go to Miami, I predict the trade will happen next weekend

Nothing happens for the Cs. They stay the course, pick 27th and try to address the fringes of the roster in FA.

JB goes nowhere. Brad goes the when this team is healthy route and does not do anything major.

This team in the end is going to look much like this year maybe with a serviceable center added.

However, with 2 starters being complete unknowns, I would not predict a 1st or 2nd round exit. What if those 2 starters were Trey Murphy and Miles Turner? That team should go the the EC Finals at least.

I am not sure how they would get those 2 guys without moving Brown or White. I think Brad will settle on a mid type center (Nurcic) and a very cheap guard.

At the end of Unsportsmanlike on ESPN radio this morning, one of them said "What if you could trade Derrick White to San Antonio or Golden State and get two 1st round picks?"

And then the Celts would add in their 2026 (after MIL makes that pick) and 2027 pick.

Of course there would be other players switching teams so that the Bucks got some young prospects too.

Interesting idea that would keep Brown with the Celts.

Trade value will never be higher regardless of the contract extension
Several Teams such as clippers rockets searching for that title with high picks and good young players to deal

Make the move regardless of GA sweepstakes and get better now much like the Pierce Garnett deal

Celtics use MLE + TPE to add two players. Hauser and pick(s) are gone in a trade for a player that they absorb with TPE. Jaylen, Tatum and White remain. C's basically add a big man, a guard OR wing, and Baylor/Hugo/Harper see increased roles. They'll explore White trades but ultimately hold on to him.

Stevens lands Giannis and another piece for Brown, Hauser, and picks, using the TPE.

If I had to guess its going to be Giannis to Miami for Herro, Ware, Jaquez, Jakucionis, 29 1st, 31 1st and a few swaps as well. As for the Celtics I think they'll look around and see what sort of value White, Hauser ect have before the draft because moving off some money could open up the option of using the 27-million-dollar TPE.

If you forced me to guess for the rest of the offseason I'd guess they more or less stand pat. They pick someone at 27, they trade #40 for a future second(s), they use the MLE on someone and stay just under the tax or over by a small enough margin that they could get out if need be. Maybe they trade Hauser for draft capital since they do have a lot of wings. It won't be flashy but I don't think the team is that far away.

That said there is a lot of variance though in offseason outcomes. The above I think is most likely, but a Giannis trade would not surprise me. Neither would a White trade to get younger. A Jaylen non-Giannis trade would surprise me; I don't think they are trading him just for assets. You only trade him if you bring back a clearly better player.
