Free agent Moe Wagner has agreed to a two-year, $19 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets, sources tell ESPN. The deal contains a mutual option guaranteeing the $19M while allowing either side to opt-in (not opt-out) along with having a conversation about doing a new contract next summer.

It feels like the Nets put a bunch of random transaction ideas on a bulletin board, and then just threw darts at it.

They wanted a backup center. They were looking at Mo Wagner or M Robinson. They promoted Dayron Sharpe to the starting spot after trading Nic Claxton but wanted an experienced backup center behind him.

I think their roster is complete now. 15 guys.

G: Egor Demin, Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf
G: Mikel Brown Jr, Keon Ellis, Drake Powell
F: MPJ, Josh Minott, Terrence Mann
F: J Randle, Noah Clowney, Joshua Jefferson (#28 pick)
C: Dayron Sharpe, Mo Wagner, Danny Wolf

This must mean they are moving on from Drummond. I like Drummond for BOS as a cheap bench center.

It wouldn't shock me.

Drummond to replace Vuc, Conley to replace Banton, and MLE to replace Shulga?

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

Ian Begley - NY reporter

Quote
On Ariel Hukporti, heard Sixers like what they see in the 24-year-old?s potential/upside, particularly as a rebounder, rim protector and floor-runner. They see the former Knick?s skillset as complementary to the way their guards push the ball/plays with pace.

While we wait for Mitchell Robinson decision, Knicks will now have to find more depth at center with Hukporti in Philadelphia

NY Times - Chicago have now used their cap space

Quote
After extending center [Zach] Collins on Tuesday, the Bulls entered Day 2 of free agency with around $23 million in salary-cap space and the room exception of $9.4 million.

With Norman Powell?s deal, the Bulls are essentially left to operate with that room exception.

Oh terrible. Waste of money.

They must not have been able to keep Hachimura. I wonder if they are planning on starting Mamu at PF. Or using him as a backup PF.

They are really hoping Kessler can cover for Doncic, Sandro, and Reaves if they are on the court at the same time.

Lakers are loading up around Luka.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I think the strategy is just to try to put up 140 a night a not worry about defense.  Which, sure, go for it.  It will be entertaining at least.

I don't like any of those signings for LAL.

Walker Kessler was an excellent signing. But the 3 since Kessler - I don't like them.

Those Grimes & Mamu contracts are too expensive. They will look bad in hindsight. Sexton is a bad fit for LAL. They already struggle to play defense with Luka and Reaves. Sexton will hurt them more than he helps them. They are better off with defensive players.

None of Grimes, Mamu, Sexton are defensive players.

Grimes ~ $15mil per season
Mamu ~ $13mil per season
Sexton ~ $9mil per season

Why couldn't they afford Hachimura?

Yikes. That is not a good enough roster for being completely depleted of assets. They have no interesting young players and no picks.

The Celtics have a better roster right now.

Duren is rapidly running out of options if his goal is a max contract offer.

Lakers cap space now gone, Bulls cap space gone. There's really nobody left who can open up the 40 million they'd need for a full max Duren offer.

Kings have been rumored, but that would have to be a S&T which Detroit does not have to do if there's no serious suitor.
