This run was a heartbreaker, lol.  Would have been a really fun group to win with but Dave Bing just wasn't quiiite enough at PG.

EDIT:  The link isn't working for some reason, but it's an 81-1 run with 60s Bing, 10s Durant, 20s Giannis (one of the best pieces in this game imo), 70s McAdoo and 20s Jokic.

I love Eddie Jones (00s CHA) and Victor Oladipo (10s IND) in this game.

20ppg + 4-5rpg + 4-5apg + high stocks numbers. 3.6 stocks for Eddie and 2.8 stocks for Oladipo. Both guys led the league in steals in those seasons.

Argh! Dang it!

So close to 150ppg! Bad luck on the final selection. I got 1980s GSW so I took World B Free who was the highest scorer at 23.4ppg. Team score was 145.8ppg. I needed another 4.2ppg so 27.6ppg. Doable. 27.6ppg was doable. So close.

G: Iverson (00s DEN)
G: World B Free (80s GSW)
F: B King (80s NYK)
F: Durant (10s OKC)
C: Wilt (60s GSW)

The team was 75-7. Not much rebounding outside of Wilt (25.1rpg for Wilt, 18.5rpg for the other 4 combined). Assists lowish at 22.4apg. 5.3 steals is okay. 1.6bpg mostly from Durant at 1.1bpg. No blocks for Wilt's era. Perimeter guys didn't block shots. So very high scoring 145.8ppg but medium rebounding, lowish assist, average steals, very low blocks.

--------

I got close again without Wilt.

C: Kareem - 70s MIL - 30.4ppg
F: Durant - 20s PHO - 27.4ppg
F: Dantley - 80s UTA - 29.4ppg
G: Jordan - 90s CHI - 30.8ppg
G: D Mitchell - 20s CLE - 26.7ppg

They totalled 145.1ppg. 5 points short.

Just managed to go 82-0 with the below squad:

PG: Luka Doncic LAL 2020s
SG: Clyde Drexler POR 1990s
SF: Kevin Garnett MIN 2000s
PF: Danny Manning LAC 1990s
C: Wilt Chamberlain PHI 1960s

122.2 PPG
57.5 RPG
28.6 APG
6.3 SPG
4.0 BPG

Honestly didn?t think that squad had it in them?

I managed to break the 120 mark (120.4, my new best) which is fun!

https://www.82-0.com/share?id=jw5RMOPPfnRriWyEu3py

The first 3 picks on this team were 60s Warriors Wilt (41.5), 20s Lakers Luka (30.9), and 00s Philly AI (29.9). 4th pick of 80s Philly Chuck (22.1) meant that all I needed was a forward with at least 25.6 ppg... so naturally I rolled the 90s as the era (and had already used the era reroll on AI), so I ended up with 90s Kings Chris Webber at 20ppg. 144.4 ppg, with one of the best 3 player scoring starts you could possible get (best would involve MJ). That one really hurt.
I'm bitter.

I started playing a couple of days ago and gave up in frustration after an hour. Then yesterday I had a short break at work, so I decided to give it one more go and surprisingly got it on the first attempt.

Oscar Robertson (1960)
Tracy McGrady (2000)
Willie Naulls (1960)
Charles Barkley (1990)
Wilt Chamberlain (1960)

145.4 PPG
65.0 RPG
25.4 APG
3.2 SPG
1.8 BPG

121.3 PTS

This a fun team.

G: Harden
G: T-Mac
F: G-Hill
F: Webber
C: Jokic

Two passing bigs like Webber and Jokic with three scorer / playmakers on the perimeter.

They decided it was an 80-2 team. 124.8ppg, 46.5rpg, 32.8apg, 7.8spg, 5.1bpg.

I wonder if we could make a 40 assist team. That looks like it would be doable. Like the 150ppg. But dang difficult!

Jokic at center is a must, and iirc the game lets you slot Magic at PF.  If you manage to draw both of those, I think you'd have a good shot at it.  Big 'if' admittedly.

This game has made me dislike Indiana as a franchise.  They are the death of happiness for any kind of run I'm attempting, lol.

Dallas ticks me off too. Dirk doesn't rate well in this game. 90s, 00s, 10s are weak. Luka & AD in 20s are strong. 80s aren't great either. Aguirre or Blackman give you points but not much else.

Play 82-0: https://www.82-0.com/share?id=B3Yl7RCGj8DkUoGIfQCw

Here's the 40+ assist run.  I hit 41.6.

80s Kevin Johnson
90s Rod Strickland
90s Jim Jackson
90s Magic Johnson
20s Julius Randle

Jim Jackson is a pretty hilarious piece to make use of in this game but I just needed 3 assists out of the SF spot so the bar was low.

And here's 60 rebounds.  Because I totally don't have an addiction.

20s Russell Westbrook (WAS - team is particularly important in Westbrook's case)
20s Josh Hart
10s Lebron James
00s Tyson Chandler
60s Bill Russell

I think I like these stat benchmark runs just as much as trying to win the game.  The goal is more transparent, and you can get very good value out of a lot of otherwise-forgettable roleplayers (like a Josh Hart).

Also I found, while doing rebound runs, that Rob Williams is incorrectly categorized as a SG/SF in their database, lol.  Tried to work that into a game a couple of times.

I have literally been unable to win this game without Wilt. I had 90s Jordan, 90 Shaq, 20s Luka, 2010s LeBum and 20s KD and still only got to 80-2.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D
