This trade would be a curveball, but could actually help the Celtics improve by creating enough cap room for a star free agent.

If Stevens thought highly enough of either Cam Boozer or Caleb Wilson, the Celtics could also add a max contract free agent, given the Bulls have enough cap room to trade for Brown without sending back any salary.

The 2026 free agent class is one of the strongest in years, with potential free agents like:

Unrestricted: CJ McCollum, Ayo Dosunmu, Harrison Barnes, John Collins, Mitchell Robinson, Robert Williams III, Tim Hardaway Jr., Kristaps Porzingis

Restricted: Peyton Watson, Walker Kessler, Bennedict Mathurin, Tari Eason

Player Option: Austin Reaves, Andrew Wiggins, Bradley Beal

Team Option: Isaiah Hartenstein, Jonathan Kuminga

For the Bulls, the Reinsdorf family are known for being cheap and do not like full rebuilds. Trading for Brown keeps the Bulls relevant. For Jaylen, he finally gets his own team, playing for a historic franchise, in a huge market.

It would be an interesting move.  I don't think it is enough,  but if they sent back a player or two it might be. Not even top level players, but guys like Halen Smith and Rob Dillingham. Cut into cap room generated some, but I like them for depth and it adds some value.

So

Starters - White, FA, Tatum, Wilson, Queta
Rotation - Dillingham, Pritchard, Hugo, Walsh, Hauser, Smith

Need to add the free agent guard, but that team has some potential both this next year and longer term.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
