Nba exec from each conference propose JB trades

Now, it is worth noting that the Celtics are not publicly saying they want to trade Brown, and he came out on Wednesday to say he wants to stay in Boston for another 10 years. Still, the Brown trade watch is on, and we went through all 30 teams, with the help of an exec from each conference, to see who could be a real suitor if Boston does put him on the market.

Milwaukee Bucks. Eastern Conference exec: ?It would be a clean way to make it happen. It?s just, Giannis is two years older than Brown (who is 29), he can?t stay healthy, and you?re not only going to trade Jaylen Brown away, you?re going to commit long-term to Giannis? There?s a big question there.?

Denver Nuggets. Western Conference exec: ?He?d be a great match with (Nikola Jokic) and give that group a little more fire, which it needs. Boston would get back Jamal Murray but he could be a fit there, more of a point guard for them.?

L.A. Clippers.  Western Conference exec: ?This would come down to whether the Celtics want to take on the drama with Kawhi Leonard. If they?re OK with that, you can lay some ground work but you?re also asking, how is this guy going to fit for us??,

San Antonio Spurs. Western Conference executive: ?A De?Aaron Fox for Jaylen Brown trade would be interesting. I feel like Boston would ask for more than that. Brown would fit, talent-wise but you?d wonder how he would mesh with Wemby and their young guys.?

Cleveland Cavaliers. Eastern Conference executive: ?The playoffs will be a factor, but they are expensive and might need to turn over everything. Donovan Mitchell could be a trade guy, Evan Mobley could be traded, Jarrett Allen. They have a lot of good pieces, but they?re expensive andis that what Boston wants??

Detroit Pistons. A Jalen Duren sign-and-trade might make some sense, but it is hard to see either side moving forward with that.

Houston Rockets. Brown-for-Kevin Durant is a hard no from the Celtics. Unless the Rockets start with Alerpen Sengun (unlikely), it?s hard to find a deal.

Minnesota Timberwolves. Rudy Gobert would be a fascinating guy to drop into Boston?s 3-point-happy system. Worth considering but the Celtics would need more, and the Wolves probably wouldn?t give it.

Duren would be a tricky fit CBA-wise.  Pistons would need to use cap space to fit in Jaylen, and while they can manufacture a fair bit, they would have to let some free agents walk, cut a bunch of non-guaranteed salaries, including players currently in their rotation, and even then would need to another $10 or so million. 

I am not sure either team is interested, and it is a very high cost capwise for Detroit.

Glad we have another JB thread.  But it is actually interesting.  As the wheels turn it could get pretty exciting if there is a bit of bidding war/  Could be that the further we slip away from the Philly series, JBs value shifts back to it's pre-Philly series level - undoubtedly his highest trade value ever.  Be interesting to bring Murray here - as it may be a better 1-2 fit with JT, but I'd wonder if Denver would need to send more.  JB has to be viewed right now as  top ten player and the first number in his age is still a 2 - till October anyway.  Im good with Giannis if Brad thinks its the right move.   I agree with Phantom that we should stay away from Kawhi.  I think SA would be smart to try to make a good offer for JB.  A team with a lot of young assets and a team who benefit a ton from a top tier veteran like JB.  I've never loved Fox but admittedly I haven't seen much of him the past couple of years.  Definitely talented and maybe a good fit with JT.  Again, it would be what else would SA send to Boston.

That is actually a very good trade for MIL. E Mobley still young enough to be part of a long term rebuild. Only 24yo. At his size and skill-set, he is a rare commodity. A great piece to have and surround with better scorers.

MIL should pursue that. If I were MIL, I would chose E Mobley over a Jaylen trade for Giannis. A better rebuilding / long term move whilst Jaylen is the better short term / win now move. Because MIL are not in a position to win now.

A D Mitchell, J Harden, Giannis, M Turner new look Cavs team. That would be the #1 favourite in the East next year.

MIL could then move J Allen for some future assets. J Allen would be a great target for BOS. A two man center rotation of J Allen & Queta would give us 48min a night of quality center play. Maybe a deal similar to what we gave up for D White with 2 future draft picks.

Can't see the Nuggets trading Murray for Brown. They already lack perimeter playmaking.

Murray is one of the more overrated players in the NBA. His peaks are really high, but he lives in the solid starter/not-quite-all-star range most of the season.

Plus he's meh at defense.

Plus he's injured a lot.

If the Nuggets would say yes before Stevens was done talking, then you know it wouldn't be a good deal for the Celtics.

M Turner has zero trade value.   I doubt CLE would trade both Allen and Mobley.   This would be a huge devalue down low for the CAVS trading for Turner.   They would not win a title with this trade and would be demonstratively worse.

If that's true, then the Celtics should trade him into our TPE for nothing.

He was the starting center and a core contributor on a finals team that went toe-to-toe (by himself) with Holgrem and Hartenstein.

He can be underwhelming sometimes, but there is no denying that he can be a contributor to a playoff team.
