Alperen Şeng?n trade rumors for the 2026 offseason suggest the Houston Rockets could use him as a centerpiece to acquire a superstar, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, or Donovan Mitchell. Following a disappointing playoff exit and a "win-now" focus with Kevin Durant, Houston may explore moving Şeng?n due to his high trade value, valued at \(\$35.6\) million in salary ballast.

I really like sengun,  he isn't a finished product either. I would definitely consider moving JB for him. Sengun would be great with Tatum IMO.

You don't trade an All-NBA first team player, and a previous finals MVP and champion, for a guy like that.

I like Sengun, but the sourness of our fanbase needs to settle down a bit.

Combining rumors

Bos sends JB
Bos gets giannis

Mil sends : Giannis
Mil gets. : Sengun

Houston sends :Sengun
Houston gets : Brown

I would be happy with either sengun or Giannis.  Although Sengun in much younger,  so you might want to aim for him more out of the deal...

Agreed.  I am not even saying Jaylen is untouchable, but Brown for Sengun would be a substantive downgrade.

I don?t want Sengun. He doesn?t take his conditioning seriously.

I know HOU would need to match salary with somebody else, but if not, that would cut a boatload of salary off our payroll. We could basically use most of the Simons TPE and the full MLE and still duck the tax.

Sengun isn?t somebody I would especially be willing to trade Jaylen for, but Sengun and another $20M+/yr player could be interesting.

I don't think Houston would do that. I think Brown's value is not as high as his talent would suggest and his contract and attitude don't help.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

One Million percent no on Brown for Seguin.

I don't understand the constant fascination with mediocre defense big men, but guys like Sengun and Sabonis cap the ceiling of your team is a significant way. Thy put-up numbers, but they just aren't as good as people think.

Sengun is massively overrated at this point.

For those who are a no on Sengun for Brown, would it change your mind if it was Sengun and Eason(s&t)? What about Sengun and Jabari Smith? We'd probably be including someone like Queta or Hugo, maybe picks at that point.

The difference in Brown's and Sengun's contracts brings in a lot of other possibilities about who you could add. If you bring in a 3rd team, the possibilities really expand. We'd still basically have the full MLE, while staying under the tax, too.

Again, I'm not pushing to trade Jaylen, but it is interesting to try and put packages together. Our season is over too early and we are going to get bored without coming up with silly trade ideas.

Nope.

(1) I don't see Tari Eason as a difference maker to anything. An average rotation player.

(2) Jabari Smith Jr is solid but limited. He is a good starting PF but we already have one of those in Tatum. I'd rather pair Tatum with a better SF and have a more dynamic offense than slide him back to SF to pair him with the more limited Jabari Smith Jr.

Sengun just isn't good enough.

(1) He is at best an average defender.

(2) He can't shoot beyond 15 feet. So (a) he can't provide spacing (b) he is reliant on scoring inside which can be disrupted by strong interior defenders as Sengun isn't that athletic.

(3) Sengun isn't efficient enough as a scorer. He was at 57% TS for the season which also his career number. Slightly below league average. Centers are usually above league average due to the high number of paint finishes / dunks they get. So below league average is even worse for a center like Sengun. His TS% in his 2 playoff series have been 50.4%. D Ayton was stopping him in this series. Draymond Green caused him massive problems last year. He is vulnerable to strong interior defenders who can keep him further from the basket & off the FT line because Sengun can't shoot well enough + isn't athletic enough to finish over them.

(4) His passing is his main value on offense. Not his scoring.

The D Sabonis comparisons are on point. Two similar players. I like Sengun's defense better. Sabonis has improved his jumper and has an advantage there over Sengun.

Brown is overrated. Regular season dominant, but playoff is pandemic. Just those Game 7s without JT alone are enough to deem him overrated. And 2022. Need some fresh new blood and faces here in green
