Idk, man. The SAS has responded.

Bro, I got love for you so I?m not going to even go there. Folks are looking out for you and you don?t even realize it. Here you are making this kind of noise and it hasn?t even been a week since you lost a 3-1 lead. You?re HOME. A champion and a Finals MVP saying his favorite season is the season he?s home in the FIRST ROUND. This is not about ME. It?s about YOU?.and what YOU SAID. Enjoy your offseason.@stephenasmith

Dang... that's actually a good and mature response  :P

I remember they did a podcast together after the 2024 Finals, because Jaylen was irked at him back then with the "state your source" post too.

I actually think that response is indicative of the problem of SAS mindset, and that he has helped promulgate into American sports fans.  Prior to last week, many on this board were saying this had been one of their favorite seasons in many years, some remembering the 2016-2017 fondly.  Jaylen pretty much agreed with that sentiment.  Yes, they fell short of their goal, but should that erase the last 6 months for him or us?  No.  It was a fun season to watch.  We liked the effort and growth from all the players, JB included.  Jaylen is saying THE EXACT SAME THING.  That Stephen A Smith, and people who are lapping up his rhetoric, cannot understand that is a loss for them all.  It was a season that brought me a lot of joy in what was a very tough fall and winter for my family, and I hope to look back on it fondly.

Agreed, and I hope you and your loved ones are doing well now  :)

I'd also like to add, SAS also had an agenda for Drake Maye last year too. Not even being negative, but at one point Maye said he hadn't heard of First Take before when he was responding to a blatant hot-take from Cam Newton on that show, and SAS strongly called him a liar and then seemed to go at it for a few weeks after it too. And then you have Lebron confronting him in the court one game, I think a lotta people are starting to open up and will continue to combat him.

I know how SAS rolls, and acknowledge ESPN without him will go down the drain. But I don't think it'll just be Jaylen over the next year.

Hell, he's a Knicks fan and even Josh Hart + Knicks fans despise SAS lol, it's well documented, and I'm sure if NY falls short of reaching the Finals and SAS says some stuff, he'll get attacked

Two things can be true at the same time, though. Was the regular season enjoyable? Yes

Were the playoffs a massive failure? Yes

It might seem like people are being harsh, but you have two top 10 players in their prime. They were 16-3 once Tatum came back and had top odds to come out of the East. Celtics were playing great basketball going into the postseason. Think a lot of people expected them to be back in the Finals this year.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yeah and wasn't Tatum the only player with a plus and at +28 in the playoffs this year? He makes any unit look good if he's on the floor with them
