I am not 100 percent sure this trade is financially feasible, but for me it solves both teams issues.

Duran is struggling for Detroit because they lack spacing around him, and when your core is comprised of Thompson & Cunningham, that is not going to change for the better anytime soon. Stewart is very solid starting alternative, that is cheaper and can also spread the floor. Devin Booker is from Detroit and fills a massive need for shooting and as a secondary shot creator.

For Phoenix, bring in Duran completely resets their timeline. It helps bring down their payroll exponentially, and gives them the ability to re-sign Collin Gillespie & Mark Williams. The Suns will not have their first round draft pick for some time, so getting another late pick from Detroit helps them continue to revive their roster.

I?m not sure this trade makes either team better. Detroits defense would get a lot worse as Booker is not good and Stewart is not a C. I do agree that the Pistons need to get a legitimate #2 option, though.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.
