When is Brad going to wake the hell up and fire this pretender head coach ?  Probably never because Brad wasn't much of a playoff coach either and he thinks Joe is doing just fine. This whole post- Garnett/Pierce era has Brad's fingerprint all over it. Good to occasional very good regular season basketball combined with underachievement in the playoffs. The Brown/Tatum/Brad/Joe era has produced consistent contenders with one title while we had to watch Miami, Golden State and now probably Oklahoma City win multiple titles. Brad is, at heart, a college coach with a college mentality. Time to clean house and bring in some grown-ups to run the team. Red must be sick watching this.

Vucevic backs off of Embiid after Embiid catches the ball. Vucevic is afraid of Embiid driving by him with his ball-handling / speed. Embiid doesn't have much speed at the moment. Vucevic should adjust and play closer defensively to Embiid. He is giving Embiid too large an advantage to attack him.

Vooch needs to get into his body. Muscle him. Instead he lets Embiid go in whatever direction he wants and then when Embiid initiates the contact, Vooch can't hold his ground because of the momentum Embiid has off his drive.

Exactly.  He's way too soft and not offering any resistance.  His poor defense was a huge reason why we lost the lead and struggled ever since.
Embiid got on track with his game once Vuc came in.  Vuc couldn't have been a bigger negative on D if he just sat under the basket and watched Embiid make his move.  Garza would have at least tried to defend him.

Scal just asked if anyone is surprised that they self destructed in the 4th after leading by 1 to end up with 11 points because they started missing shots, their heads dropped, it affected their defense, and the other team got a roll on, and it became a downward spiral. It?s something that has been an issue with the Cs for years, and it starts with the Jays?they get frustrated, they start foul baiting and get more upset because they don?t get calls, and it all unravels. It?s hard to believe that yes we were leading by one going into the fourth quarter.

It?s been a while since I visited the game thread in the post-season. What a bunch of whiners. People
Calling out Joe and pining for Ime. 🤣 It?s a sport of randomness. The better team doesn?t win every game. 2008 team was taken to 7 games by the 40-42 Hawks.

Welcome back!

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Scal is 100 percent right. When the Cs miss shots they stop playing defense. It has been a staple for this group.

Happened in game 2 and tonight.

Missed shots and hero ball kicked in and defense wasn't even on the menu.

People are mad, they just saw the team self-destruct in the fourth quarter when they could?ve clinch the series? they?re still in the anger phase of the grieving process  :police:

It?s a good time to post up my trusty graphic

This.

this has been a trait of this team since the J's were drafted -- and especially after IT was traded.  J's think they should be getting calls that the other team is getting and try to foul bait without success.  it just leads to bad shot attempts that are essentially turnovers as well as regular turnovers because they're forcing a drive and just get their pockets picked with ease.

Q Grimes gave Philly a big lift.

I am surprised he doesn't do that for them more often. You would think he has a solid role carved out there as a bench scorer. Especially with the lack of offense from Oubre & Philly's other wing players. That they would turn to him over Oubre when they need shooting / scoring.

A nice five man lineup with Grimes instead of Oubre. Take out Embiid and play Bona or Drummond and you have 4 perimeter scorers around them. Play Grimes in the backcourt alongside Maxey or Edgecombe while the other one rests. A lot of options. Yet Grimes has become more of an afterthought on this team.

Grimes was terrific for them last year. I think they should be getting more nights lik this out of him.

JB tonight was doing nothing more than looking for foul calls. He took shots that were horrible thinking he would get the call. It was just sad.

Sat PP way too long.

Played Vuc on Embiid way too much.

They missed shots and went mental. Didn't play defense. It is who they are.

I heard Giannis wants to come play here? Maybe start a package with Brown and White and involve a third team to get us more pieces. At least Giannis is a competitor, plays smart, and wants to win.

we are wasting years. i really wish ime woulda capitalized and been up 3-1 in 2022 and won the title. woulda made 2023 a little more palatable sandwiched between titles. the choke last year was  a fireable offense.

brad is really ticking me off allowing this garbage. get a real coach who makea adjustments in game, in practice and who has a inside game to match the perimeter.
FIRE JOE NOW!

Tough to feel good after a loss like this. How many times do they need to replay the same script before something changes? They start missing shots in the second half and then get tight and collapse.

Frustrating.

Credit to Embiid. He destroyed BOS' big men.

Philly got 1 win early in the series thanks to a big night from Edgecombe and good shooting. And now a 2nd win thanks to Embiid dominating BOS' bigs. Plus he got some good help from Maxey, Grimes and PG13. But Embiid was the catalyst.

Feels like Mazzula is scared to put Garza on Embiid. Even though Vucevic was struggling defensively against Embiid, Mazzula kept going to him over Garza. Mazzula will play Garza against Drummond but not Embiid. As soon as Embiid checked back in, Garza was pulled for Vucevic. As bad as Vucevic was playing on D against Embiid, Mazzula feared Garza would be worse.

Thing is they gave the Sixers hope tonight going back home where they are due for a win.

They gave them the blueprint on how to win. They reverted back to bad habits where they didn't make shots and that allowed their entire game to fall apart.

Hard to see them winning 3 in philly with guys like D White not doing a thing.

I can live with Embiid scoring 2's in the paint.

I cannot live with Grimes hitting multiple 3s and a 4 point play. Can't live with George hitting multiple 3s. Drummond hitting a 3. And most of the 3s were wide open.

Boston missed shots and they let it impact everything.
