Joe for keeping this anemic offense so one-dimensional. Guess he hasn't learned his lesson from last year or from 2023 when you live by the 3 you die by the 3. No other offensive adjustments whatsoever. Being outcoached by Nick and not keeping his team in check when they're being complacent.

And White, very disappointed in him this season and his regression. Ready to move on from him

Joe not for the anemic offense (at least that?s not the main reason I?m blaming him) but for not adjusting his defensive coverages at the point of attack, not putting enough pressure on the ball handler, and playing deep drop coverage all game basically conceding open shots on the pick and roll. That was the main reason Philadelphia shot 50% from three? Because they loaded up on Maxey and PG13 and dared the likes of Edgecombe and Grimes to make their shots and they did since they were wide open.

I will also blame PP for having an abysmal game, but more so because he had a particularly abysmal performance at the end of the first quarter and in the second quarter where we gave up a 13 point lead to end up behind by eight points at halftime because he took four shot options, two of which were air balls when he could?ve passed to other players, and committed live ball turnovers that got the Sixers on a roll.

Those are my two pi?ata?s for the game >:(
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Not upset. Just one of those games where the team can't make shots. Seems to happen more in this three point heavy era ... and happens to every team too.

The game is a write off. Back to work for Gm3.

I think this is one of Joe's biggest remaining weaknesses. My guess is that he'll have adjustments in place for Game 3, but he's always been poor at making in-game adjustments in the moment.

That said, I'm not worried about this loss.  Philly has a lot of talent, and Game 1 created some false expectations.

Don't know who to blame but the effort on defense was game 55 in the regular season level. Did not fight through screens, let shooters walk into wide open 3s.

I am really concerned about PP and White. They have done nothing this series.

This team likes to do things the hard way. They simply do not remember previous series where they have done the same things. I can't remember the amount of game 2s at home this team has just slept walked through to lose.

I?m with you on the PP and White part.  Particularly PP because we need him to carry his weight when he?s coming off the bench.  White can be masked a bit more.
Yup

Boston won the free three battle.  Boston won the rebounding battle.  And while Boston lost the turnover battle they had just 11 all game.  They lost because Edgecombe and Maxey combined for 59.  Now maybe there is some fault in starting Hauser who can't defend those guys which makes Brown try and he can't either, but White was awful on both ends and so was PP.  They combined for 2 of 14 from 3.  Tatum and Haiser were both 2 of 8 from 3.  Outside of Brown, Boston was 8 of 38 from 3.  You aren't going to win many games shooting like thar, especially when you let the opposing points of attack drop 59 on you shooting 11 of 22 from 3.  Brown had great stats, but he was -9 because Edgecombe torched him on the other end.

2 elite level play makers (who are fast) is a real problem for Boston especially when they have tall athletic wing defenders like George and Oubre who at least make Tatum and Brown work in the other end. Boston has more talent and should win the series in 5, but I dont think last night was a fluke either.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I will take full blame.  I never make predictions but in the prediction thread, I tried to make it seem like my prediction was not really a prediction, just a general observation.  But I did not fool the basketball gods apparently.

Beyond that, it is pretty much all of the above.  The team/coaches/etc. should not need a wake up call, but they just got one.  Now let's see how they all respond.  No need to over-react or over-adjust.  Just do everything a little better.

I?m going with everyone except Tatum and Brown. While Brown didn?t have a great game, he still scored 36.

That being said, they were down 2 with the ball with something like 4 minutes to go. It wasn?t as bad as the final score.

It?s one game. I still expect them to win in 5 or 6, but they need the rest of the team to step up and shoot better

His shooting has been bad but opposing coaches have noted how hard it is to play against them when he is on the floor. He's incredibly valuable to this team.

This could be a good series for Jordan Walsh as the 5th starter. Best defensive option against those quick explosive guards.

I really think Walsh or Baylor needs to start over Sam. They are going right at Sam every time they can.

Joe/the coaching staff for making no adjustments on defense, although the players are not without blame.  Pritchard and Vooch didn?t show up at all and White/Hauser couldn?t hit any wide open shots
