I obviously have no clue, but seeing some of the reports online and then the fact that Nurse basically ruled out Embiid for Game 1 while being ambiguous about his potential return, I wonder if Embiid actually has a chance at playing in this series. Now I doubt he'll come back and be 100% ready conditioning-wise, but it could be interesting if he somehow is able to come back by like Game 4 or 5 and it's a 2-2 series or something. Hopefully it's not, if BOS goes up 2-0 or 3-1 I could see Embiid and the organization just deciding against it.

The first game worried me more than any other game.   It was a 1 O'clock game and we were heavily favored.  We don't always play best in day games.    I think we could sweep them after game one's win.  Paul George is a playoff choke master and continued that tradition this past game.

It's Game 2 that we should be worried about. I remember this team loves blowing Game 2 home games in 2024 after a walloping Game 1 win.

Still got C's in 6. I don't expect Philly to roll over after the opening series. Maybe after Game 2.

I am kind of superstitious about making predictions involving my home teams.  I will say that it does not seem to me that Embiid will have any impact on this series.  I suspect that this kind of surgery involves being on fluids for a period of time, doing noting but lying in bed for a period of time, not to mention having a fairly major incision in your gut.  It seems like it would take a while to be back in NBA playoff shape.

I guess I can say that I suspect the odds would favor the higher seeded team in 5 for this type of series.  The higher seed team wins the first 2 at home, then the lower seed wins 1 at home, then the higher seed closes it out in game 5.

Just hypothetically speaking.

Talent wise it feel like it should be Celtics in 4, but when you have a team who shoots as many threes as the Celtics you always have to factor in the possibility that they just have one really bad shooting luck game and it goes 5.

Anything over 5 would be a disappointment given that Embiid is out and Maxey does not look 100%.

Its important to close these series fast to avoid grinding your own guys down in a long postseason.

I'm going to stick with C's in 5.

Philly had two bits of great luck today (1) Edgecombe had a massive game (2) Boston shot the 3 ball terribly [13-50 3PTA 26%] and none of the role players showed up.

I don't think Philly has the offense to keep up with Boston without Edgecombe having a super-performance. Not just a good one. A super performance. He is a rookie. He is inconsistent. They got 1. Maybe they will get a 2nd. Maybe not. But if they do, it's unlikely BOS' role players are a no-show again ... and if they show, BOS still wins despite Edgecombe's big game.

I think we should take it in 5 but we will play bad in one game so in 6.

This is our bad game so Cs in 6...I do think we will lose another game but one where we play better than this but Philly just plays better. It's the NBA, it's hard to sweep, and winning by 30 points doesn't really mean anything if you can't sustain the performance multiple games, and Philly were never going to play that bad again, they got some pride over there they didn't want to get humiliated again.

I do feel Philly shouldn't shoot 50% from 3 again...UNLESS Joe fails to make an adjustment to his "we will load up on Maxey and PG13 and let everyone else beat us" strategy. They got a lot of open shots because we loaded up on Maxey at the point of attack, and because we left the likes of VJ and Grimes open at the 3 point line because Vucevic or Q was in deep drop coverage and their defender had to fight through a screen and they made those shots when on Sunday they didn't. Joe sucks at making schematic tactical adjustments in-game, he usually has to look at it on film with his staff before making adjustments the next game. And I think they do...they can't leave them that open. They were so worried about Maxey turning the corner that they had their bigs in deep drop the whole game.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

These are not the Miami Heat of 2024...Boston ain't winning 3 in a row. Expect another L coming but in Philly. I don't know what other offense Boston has aside from the 3's. Edgecombe having another Jordan night is more probable than White having a decent night.

Probably 6 games now. Have to hope they split games in Philly.

Celtics in 5.

There will be one game where the outside shots fall for Philly, not Boston

That better be the only one this series.

I just have this feeling they will drop Game 3 as well. But then win Game 4 with their season essentially on the line and win the series in 6.

Idk why, I just have that feeling. It's gonna be a bit stressful for a few days especially when you blow a game like last night the way they did

Imagine they tie it back but lose Game 5 at Boston, mimicking that 2023 run.

Don't even wanna imagine being down 3-2 in the first round when many of us are already slitting wrists being 1-1 at home. It's that PTSD from watching this squad from the past
