Funny enough, there is a chance Devers could land back in the AL East

How about those Sox....12-2 with a 7 game winning streak.  Hard to hate when they play like this...

I don't see him as a fit for them. They already have Rice at 1B and Stanton at DH, so they'd have to play him at 3B. I know the Yankees are allergic to good defense, but that still seems like a stretch.

On the pitching, can you ever have enough starting pitching?  Crochet still on IL, Early, Oviedo on IL, Bello in the minors.  Good thing Patrick Sandoval is coming back.  And where did Bennett come from?

I wonder how good Sandoval will be.  Could be trade bait.

To answer the questions:
No (but you can have too little hitting, which might require trading pitching to fix)
We traded Luis Perales (RH SP, our #4 prospect at the time) straight-up for Bennett in December. When it was announced it looked like a slight loss for us, but now it looks like a slam dunk. Major props to Bennett (and Breslow)

Man, if the Sox could get Crochet and Anthony back for the second half of the season? Could be really interesting.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I was under the belief they should still trade Chapman + Gray to get back a lot of value (multiple Top-100 prospects and/or MLB-ready talent), but that might be difficult to do now with them being in the thick of the wild card race. 1.5 games back of a wild card spot, and technically just 3 games back of WC2. Idk how you can sell that to the fanbase if they sell while being in the hunt (no pun intended)

What a crazy few weeks since the Rockies series where it truly felt like rock bottom. Interesting decisions ahead at the deadline. Do they buy a bat AND sell Gray + Chapman for legit value since they probably won't be here beyond 2027 anyways and are both in their late 30s?

Red Sox are half a game out of a wildcard slot. Unreal
