Redsox have scored the least amount of runs in the AL. Are people still watching this team?

I stopped. It's not just the losses, it's that they are super boring too. Not worth my time.

I feel bad for the pitchers, they have mostly been great too but the offense is hopeless. The lineup doesn't even have many household names or big-time stars either to be interested in.

Also, I heard on Twitter there were more "sell the team" chants tonight. Good. I wish that + more people wearing paper bags would occur. It's a joke.

I noticed while watching some clips the last few days, Fenway has looked pretty empty. Sure, it's a random weekday in May and today had some weather concerns, but it's still a pretty ominous sign. Mid-May and most people already checking out? Oof.

The Red Sux have a horrible lineup. ?Anemic? isn?t a strong enough word to describe the putrefaction that is their offense.

Simple. John Henry didn?t want to pay him.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Pitching has actually been really good lately. Just get a power bat already!  :o

My greatest fear is that Breslow trades more prospect depth at the deadline for a medicore power bat that helps us go .500 and still miss the playoffs.

Its a bit of a shame that Anthony, Mayer, Durbin, Story, and Duran have had such disastrous seasons because some of Craigs moves actually really hit this summer.

Gray, Suarez, Contreras have all been grand slams.

Man, they really choked all 3 games away to start the homestand after coming back with a wee bit of momentum.  Bad teams find new ways to lose all of the time.  Oy...
Yup

The Sox can say that their best pitcher (Crochet) and best hitter (Anthony) have both been injured, but even still, this team is underachieving.  Clearly, the manager was not the problem.  The season is not lost yet, but we are getting closer to that point.

Theo Epstein has been disappointed by the Sox intense analytical direction under [Craig]Breslow, multiple league sources said, Healey wrote. A minority owner and adviser who led the franchise to two World Series titles as GM, Epstein has long been a mentor to Breslow, hiring him to the Cubs front office and helping him get the Sox job.

Beslow said in the piece that Epstein remains a sounding board and valuable resource. Epstein returned to the Red Sox last year after an eight year stint as the Cubs? president of baseball operations and several years as a consultant.

Epstein has three championships as an executive two with the Red Sox and one with the Cubs. An unnamed evaluator who was with the Red Sox while Epstein was GM said Epstein brought a balanced approach to the job.

Theo was an all-forms-of-information guy, the evaluator said. He didn?t just live on Carmine [their internal database at the time]. He listened to people.

That Globe piece yesterday + Ortiz's comments and the timing of it really tells me Breslow is on the hot seat now. Frankly, the thought of Breslow running this deadline also terrifies me, regardless of buying or selling. Even if they sell, you want to get back value and not just dump guys (Chapman, Gray, Duran, etc.). Breslow's made some good trades like Contreras and Crochet, but he's also done some really bad ones that didn't net back much of value like Grissom, Durbin, etc. which is a sign of poor asset management too.

My hope is Breslow is fired soon, and they let Eddie Romero run the deadline maybe with a little behind the scenes help from Theo at least interim. Sure, Breslow was like their 12th choice and I'm not sure an external GM would be interested in this job given the recent track record of GMs here and ownership's restrictions/influence, but I think Romero is qualified for it and has been here with the organization for a while including under the Dombrowski era.

It seems pretty alarming though that the Boston Globe article (Henry's paper btw) said Breslow essentially needs an "English to English" translator to help with day-to-day conversations with staff and other people throughout the day. Huh?? So basically he's kind of incompetent and basically acts like a robot in real life even to others.
