Already a crazy start to the day today. Lowe with a 2-run HR, then Mets put up 5 on Skenes and take him out of the game all in the very first inning

And last night Logan Webb got destroyed. Nothing makes sense!

Roman Anthony has 3 hits so far. Not too shabby.

I predict 90'ish wins.

I predict a RH DH type slugger will be added along the way.

I predict BOS will score more runs than it seems people think.

Get to the playoffs and you never know.

as a Brewer fan - that's been my team's philosophy for a decade.  hasn't panned out too well.

Brewers have still made some nice playoff runs, including nearly making the WS in 2018

Unfortunately it seems this is the new Sox ownership model. Do enough to basically make the playoffs or stay in the hunt, all while Fenway still gets filled with people ($$$) and meanwhile they don't go above and beyond to win like the Mets/Padres/Yankees/Dodgers, etc. (and yes I'm aware it hasn't exactly panned out for NYM/SD but I respect that they have ownership willing to try)

We have some blue chip players like Crochet, Anthony, Chapman, etc. which they can capitalize on with a few more moves around them but they just don't. Lot of reliance on young players and depth or utility guys to fill roles.

they've only had one real run in all those years.  they almost always get booted in the first round they play in and if not, they've barely squeaked by to the next round when they're sent home in a very convincing manner

Idk, kinda felt like last year they didn?t have the horses to make it far. They pretty much did as expected in the playoffs.

Line Up today:

Anthony DH
Story SS
Duran CF
Contreras 1B
Abreu RF
Durbin 3B
Yoshida LF
Mayer 2B
Wong C

Reds have RH starter.  I am OK with this.  Yoshida probably gets some hits today.  Definitely lose some OF defense though.

It will also be interesting to see how Connelly Early does.

It's only 3 games in but it's hard not to feel this offense is basically the same as last year, or maybe even a little worse. Unable to cash in with RISP, having trouble with the little details, not many power threats in the middle of the lineup besides Abreu. And at least last year you had Devers, Bregman, and some of the lefty mashers (Romy + Ref)

Also, Durbin hitting 5 is gonna infuriate me. I'm already getting sick of him. We went from Devers, to Bregman, to this guy at 3B??? Also, paying IFK 6M to just be a backup SS (and not a great one either). Like what was the plan? (Hint: there was none, they whiffed on power bats in the offseason and then claimed they planned to win games on pitching and defense primarily)

I'm not even super mad at Weissert despite his last two outings. Pitching as a whole was mostly good, and Gray got screwed by poor defense in the early innings yesterday. Bigger picture, the offense is what really concerns me against good teams. Way too much reliance on just a few guys and a lot of mediocre/inconsistent guys.
