Well, it looks like this is why Vrabs wasn?t available today.

CB Karon Prunty from Wake Forest is the 5th round pick.  He has size (6'-2", 190 lbs) but other than that, I don't know anything about him.

I like the Crownover pick, he was seen as an early Day 3 prospect so for him to be taken in the 6th is nice. He's also MASSIVE, and absolutely has the tools to be a really good backup/fringe starter-type which the team could use.

That said, the other two moves are weird. The CB from Wake Forest was projected to be 7th round or UDFA, yet we took him in the 5th? And no major site even has much info about him lol. The other guy they took is basically a special teamer it seems too. There are guys falling like Perkins who was available yet the Pats passed on them too, idk why

Same. That was the only pick I liked today. Also, if they are going to take a QB, why not go after the LSU QB. I liked the Lomu, Jacas, and Crownover picks. Thought they should have taken the DT Harris.  I give Elliott/Vrabs a C for this draft.

Diggs found not guilty on all charges, and frankly reading and seeing some of the footage it seems the prosecution had a bad case lol, even the judge was like "huh" throughout

Anyways, if AJ Brown's asking price via trade is too high, I wouldn't mind pivoting back to Diggs if his NFL market isn't really there this offseason

Hell, I'd have zero problem dumping Chism and Pop Douglas if it meant Diggs AND AJ Brown

Seriously, imagine a group led by Brown-Diggs-Doubs

Jemele Hill of Front Office Sports stirring the fire about Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, making Patriots Nation wonder if they should can Mike Vrabel to minimize any distractions from the news outlets affecting the organization.

Ime Udoka all over again but for Boston's professional football team this time?

Luckily Russini isn't the wife of a team executive. The whole thing with Vrabel getting aired out like this slowly and methodically is a mess, but hopefully they run out of content soon. The only thing I care about is he is still able to coach and lead the Patriots. Everything else is Real Houswives of whatever to me. Just not something that matters in the context of football.

It's a little bit different, as Russini isn't a subordinate of Vrabel, and a lot of the behavior didn't take place while he was with the Pats.  Ultimately, my guess is that the organization makes a decision based upon potential liability, like the Celtics did.  The Celtics felt legally exposed.  The Pats might not to the same degree.

I don't see any legal liability for the Pats, but I am not a lawyer.  The only thing Vrabel did while a Pats employee was meeting Russini in Sedona, not good judgement by most people's standard but hardly illegal.  To me the question is if Vrabel has lost his credibility with the players and thereby diminished his ability to coach the team.  Or if this has otherwise created so much of a distraction that it impacts the team.

Udoka probably violated team rules or policies by allegedly sexually harassing an employee.  This gave them a basis to suspend Udoka.  I don't see any comparable basis for the Pats to suspend Vrabel.  I guess there may be some clause in the contract that if your personal behavior affects the team, that the contract can be voided.  I doubt it, but maybe.  The Pats could fire Vrabel and eat the contract (not likely), they could try to convince him to take a leave of absence and allow more time for this to blow over, but I am not sure there is much else they can do.

Kyle Williams is keeping his #18 number, instead of changing to #8 which is available

Interesting...

I'm all aboard the Diggs AND AJ Brown train. Seriously, a Top-3 of Brown-Diggs-Doubs is amazing and having Hollins and Williams behind them makes them complete. Tough for defenses to cover, even the great ones.

Chism and others can go. And frankly I think Boutte could be headed to PHI anyways in the Brown trade, I don't think NE wants to pay Boutte soon considering Gonzalez is also owed a contract
