Ugh, can't really complain given that we're down 2 starters and another rotation player, but you hate to lose it like that on a dumb foul.

They were down two starters as well, though. It was a fair contest. Good game.

Not their best players though. We were down two starters plus a key bench player.
Our offense was severely crippled by injuries and it showed. We really struggled to get open shots. Everything was contested.

I usually agree with you, Tenn, but I disagree on this one. They had quite a few open threes in the second half that they just bricked.

You're probably right, Must have occured when I was stomping around my house on one of my profane rants.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett - Tatum

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:

LOL. You had good cause for that!

I couldn't catch the game, but very odd timing for Jaylen Brown to complain about SGA's flopping in a game where SGA took 8 FTA attempts while Brown took 14 FTA.

On a game which we were even in foul calls called, and we took more FTA as a team. I mean, there probably was a play here and there that is drawing attention to flopping, but to call out SGA about playing "the right way" after this particular game seems odd.

Not that I don't agree with it, but the timing seems off.

We battled the defending champs down to the last possession without 2 of our 3 best players. On the road. We are in a good spot.

Jaylen got in some early foul trouble, and I think the first one was due to a flop, which may be some of the context.  That whole team flops like crazy.  You?d think the Celtics were Tasing Lu Dort every time they set a screen.

EDIT: Maybe there was something else he said, but in the comments I just watched from last night, I did not hear him call out SGA in particular, but the Thunder in general.  Which, yes, as a group they were flopping like fish out of water.

not banking on it.  figuring they're going to be mentally off after the last 2 tough games and get lazy against the Wiz.  hoping I'm wrong.  would love to see a blowout

I like our chances against them if we add White and Tatum.

Great effort that came up short.   Jaylen seems to not like Holmgren with two nasty dunks on him.

He was caught on the live mic yelling ?that?s not basketball!? after one of SGA?s flails that led to free throws, so I think people are connecting the dots.

And regardless of total free throws, it?s more about how those free throws were earned. At least 3 of the 4 fouls leading to SGA free throws were from his classic flailing and foul baiting, compared to JB whose were all mostly legitimate without any of the flailing.

OKC was also missing Hartenstein and Jalen Williams. I think OKC still has the edge even if both teams are fully healthy

make that 3 of our top 7 players were out - tatum, white, vuc.

tough loss, but i can live with it. the playoffs may be more interesting than i had believed earlier.

you're going to have to come up with a more convincing argument for equating Jalen Williams and Hartenstein to Tatum and White.  Williams is not in the same tier of player as Tatum and Hartenstein is not in the same tier as White.  A more accurate comparison would be if the C's were missing White and Vuc (which they were) --> a key player as well as a back up big

When I posted I couldn't watch the video, I went by the description of the video... the description mischaracterized what he said. You're correct.

He was talking in general about the need to flop to sell the calls, and manipulate the game. So one could say it was an indirect to the SGA and the likes, but he wasn't talking about him.

So I stand corrected.

We will just have to hope we can see this play out and see how it goes.  I think Vuc gives some ability with a big, that might help us.   Hartenstein is good.  But Vuc is bigger in terms of his bulk and has some weight to push him around and definitely Holmgren who is skinny.  Of course, both those guys are more mobile but Vuc should be able to back them down low.   One thing though is Vuc is listed at 6-9 and I always thought he was taller than that.
