Thinking about draft history, if you could take one draft to build the best and most cohesive team what draft you taking?
Some top contenders - 15 deep - starters listed first, then bench by position
2003 - Mo Williams, Wade, Lebron, Melo, Bosh - Hinrich, Barbosa, Josh Howard, Korver, David West, Diaw, Collinson, Perk, Zaza, Kaman
1996 - Nash, Ray, Kobe, Peja, Camby - Iverson, Marbury, Fisher, Kittles, McCarty, JO, Toine, Abdur Rahim, Big Z, Dampier
1985 - Porter, Dumars, Mullin, Mailman, Ewing - Michael Adams, Elie, McDaniel, Corbin, Detlef, AC Green, Oakley, Sabonis, Hot Rod, Wennington
1984 - Stockton, Jordan, Kersey, Barkley, Hakeem - Fleming, Humphries, A. Robertson, Tony Campbell, Ron Anderson, S. Perkins, Thorpe, Willis, Cage, Bowie
1970 - Tiny, Maravich, Rudy T, Cowens, Lanier - Calvin Murphy, Charlie Scott, Petrie, Randy Smith, John Johnson, Jim McMillian, Heard, Issel, Lacey, George Johnson
Really can't beat the 84 starting unit, but that bench is the weakest of these teams. 70 lacks the top 10 all timer, but their size would be tough for other teams to handle with MVP big men in Cowens and Lanier, along with Issel and Lacey on the bench, plus Tiny and Pistol Pete is massive offensive firepower from the starting guards. And 70 had 12 all stars, the most of any year (well 74 also had 12 all stars, but I don't think the team measures up led by Walton and Gervin so I didn't include it). 96 would be the most interesting test of a team concept given you have Nash, AI, Ray, Kobe and then Marbury. Cohesiveness may be an issue with that group of guards (plus not exactly efficient players like Toine down low). 03 many of those guys actually played together so that team might work the best, especially since Lebron, played with almost everyone on that team at one point. 85 I think may be the best put together team both in the starting unit and the bench, but Mailman doesn't exactly excite as the lead player.
So who you got, and did I miss a year?
