Honestly, I don't care much at this point whether its Arlington Heights, Chicago, or Hammond. I think most people in the area are sick of the way this thing has been handled by all parties involved and how long this has dragged out. It's tiring.
Since the time this whole ordeal has begun, the Chicago Fire managed to buy land on the south branch of the Chicago River, privately financed the whole thing, and construction has already begun. And that's downtown Chicago. Halas/McCaskey are a cash poor ownership group who have stubbornly refused to cede any majority ownership control even if it would enrich them and help the franchise. People want to play politics here with Illinois leaders but, IMO, its the ownership group who should get the majority of the blame on this. They'll get their sweetheart stadium deal in the toxic grounds of Hammond, IN but a big price has been paid here in the meantime. The really sad thing is that this ordeal has completely overshadowed what was an incredible 2025 season where the focus should've been the hope and excitement for '26 season.
