There is a possibility if his market isn't that great that Simons could re-sign here at a reasonable rate this offseason. That'd be kinda funny if we had Vucevic and Simons both in 2027

(I do think we'll aim a bit higher using the TPE + pick(s) in a trade but otherwise I'm okay if we keep everyone + add Simons to the bench again)

A bench led by Vuc and Simons would be ridiculous.

Pritchard, Vucevic, Simons, Hugo, Walsh and Hauser off the bench

Ever since we traded for simons , everyone knew that we would most likely trade him for a big at the break , and then what happens , we trade simons , for a big and now everybody surprised.

No one feels surprised. The thought is this team is surprisingly good and Simons was one of the key players responsible for it. Then we decide to trade him for a 35 year old center who some feel in a downgrade in talent and long term potential compared to Simons.

People always want to upgrade especial if the team is giving up the better picks and is a contender to come out the East.

I don't think anyone is complaining if the talent in was a clear upgrade.

I?m good with having two small guards playing big minutes off the bench. Those guys are going to get targeted big time in the playoffs. NY attacked Pritchard relentlessly last year.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I think the talent was an upgrade.

I also think the long-term potential we acquired is better.  Vuc is more likely to accept an affordable deal going forward, whereas Simons was almost certainly leaving.

Tatum is coming back. That means Simons was due for a diminished role. Vucevic will play more than Simons once Tatum is back.

Tatum >> Simons
Vucevic >> Garza

Simos > Garza
