When do you think Tatum makes his season debut?

If he doesn't come back this week, I don't see him returning for a road game especially with 3 tough teams. If not, it probably will be 3/14, just like his contract (314M) and the St. Louis area code.

March 14th is a start of a 7-game stretch with 6 being at home, and no back-to-backs, so I think it will be then if it is not Wednesday.

March 14 (3/14) is also Pi day (Pi being the irrational number that represents the ratio between the circumference and the diameter of a circle).  Not sure the possible metaphorical significance of that, perhaps that Tatum has come full circle?

March 14 would be fine with me.  If it gets much later than that, you have to start wondering if it will happen at all.  The last game of the season is on Apr 12.  There would be 16 games remaining, including the game on March 14.  That still seems like enough for him to be ready for the playoffs, but not sure it can be much less than that.

Then Tatum would not be dragging this out in the first place and just say out loud "hey I'm sitting out for the rest of this season" and be done with it.

The only thing I will allow would be if, god forbid, he suffers a serious setback at some point during the rehab/practices that changes the outcome and so he's forced to sit out the season. Otherwise, yeah he should be back.

I think IF he does...it will be Friday. Game is a national game on ESPN.

But I still lean at Tatum not coming back this season.

We absolutely do not need to rush a Tatum return.

Make sure he's 100% healthy before having him come back.

The Celtics are playing very well and just yesterday they proved they could win against a Bucks team led by Giannis even with Jaylen Brown missing the game due to illness.

Bill Simmons has no inside info on the Tatum thing. When he says "it feels like X" he's just saying reiterating general speculation.

There are only so many home games between now and the end of the regular season, if he comes back it will be one of those games. We aren't going to know until right before it happens.

I think it's 3/6, Mavs @ Boston. Home game. Around his birthday. Primetime. NBA Finals rematch of 2 seasons ago. Cooper Flagg, a northeaster native who grew up cheering for the Celtics having a homecoming. Think about the revenue that will generate.

It won't make any sense coming back during a very tough road trip.

3/14 against the Wizards isn't primetime enough albeit it's a game to ease in to. Anytime after I question if he should even consider coming back or just sit out for the seaosn. But that documentary is something else to consider otherwise.
